Exercise and burning calories question?
Question:
Answers:
Basically, think of calories like gas in an engine. It's what your body burns when you do pretty much any activity. By exercising, you are burning some calories, and raising your metabolism as well, which burns even more calories. The exact amount you're burning depends on a lot of variables, such as the intensity of your activity, your metabolic rate and so forth.
As far as the cravings go, here's the best advice I can give you. Set aside one day out of the week as your "cheat" day. On this day, you reward yourself for following your diet for the week. It's important not to go overboard and eat everything in the house, obviously, but you can definitely afford to treat yourself a little. If it's chips you're hungering for all week, then have a bag of chips on your cheat day. If it's cake, have a piece. This little reward will help provide the motivation you need to make it through the next week.
Will it slow your progress down? Yeah, a little. On the flip side, though, by scheduling a little cheating, you avoid going on a binge and really harming your progress.
Hope this helps out a little. Good luck!
