Is there a solution for gaining weight for me?

Question:
ok, i work out with heavy weights and even eat properly. but neither my weight goes up nor down. from age 17 i have been only 78 pounds...no matter how hungry i remain...no matter how much i eat the weight remains constant. i talked to my doctor n she said its because of my gene. does that mean the weight lifting i am doing will not at all help me gain muscle? i see no result actually.

Answers:
So you're trying to gain weight? Then why do you stay hungry? I'm confused.

Weight training will help you gain muscle, but you need to be feeding your body the right amounts of protein, fat and carbohydrate. When trying to build muscle, you MUST increase your protein intake to about 1.5 grams/lb of body weight. For you, this would be about 115 grams per day. Also, be sure that when you're lifting weight, you're using proper form and are lifting to failure. If you aren't sure, pick up a few muscle magazines - Oxygen is a good one for women, but you could even try Men's Muscle & Fitness - the exercises and proper form are the same whether you're a man or woman, so it would still be informative and beneficial. If you're still confused, try hiring a personal trainer for a few sessions.
Get a personnal trainer to help u get the most out of your work outs.
From personal experience, I can tell you a great way to put on lots of weight is to go through a very nasty breakup... nothing helps you gain weight faster like doing absolutely nothing but lay in bed for a month & eat like 2 liters of ice cream in one go! ;)

More practically speaking, however, it might behoove you to find a nutritionist to work with. I'd ask your doctor for some recommendations of nutritionists in your area.
Im also like this, only im a 5'7, 16 year old, 120 pound guy.
I think the problem is just that we have very very fast metabolisms, if this is the case, there is nothing you can do about it.

However, don't let that stop you from working out, its still good for you!
girl... don't stress i was like that for years even after i had my first child. i now have 2 kids and i've filled out i'm a size 7 and when i had my 1st baby i was size 3. b4 that i was a size 3 and i was not filled out at all i was 17 at the time also. So my best bet 4 you is to drink "Boost" the nutritional energy drink. its great , you get energy, not like caffeine or anything, and plus it fills you up. eat a meal and drink one right after.
