The best exercise to work the lower abs uses an exercise ball. Do three sets of 8-10 reps to start, and five sets of 12-15 reps after the first few weeks. This will work out not only your lower abs, but also your core muscles, which is also key in developing a strong torso. basic stuff are crunches, sit ups, and leg lifts.
Try laying on your back and lift your legs about six in. off of the ground for 30sec. do about 5 sets of those. situps too but come all the way up and make your chest touch your knees
all other types of crunches and sit ups only work your upper abs.
lay with your hands under your butt and left your legs straight, together about a foot of the ground and bring it back down
do that repeatidly
they are called low leg lifts
