your body burns calories 24/7. It burns calories when you walk, when you talk, when you sit, when you sleep. The more you weigh, the more you burn. The better shape you are in the more you burn. Exercising is just burning extra calories beyond what you would burn by maintaining your weight.
But if you wish to lose weight you are going to eliminate 3500 calories for every pound you want to lose. You can do this by either dieting or exercising or both.
But it is not healthy for a female to drop below 1200 calories. Your body starts to eat muscle. Plus your metabolism will drop and your body will then try to hang onto your fat stores. Then when you do start eating normally again you body will still have the lower metabolism and more of what you eat will be converted to fat.
try this website to see what your body requires per day to maintain
meh. i dont either. i dont pay attention to that stuff. i do what i think is right for me
Don't forget that your body burns calories even when you are sitting still! You don't have to try to exercise off 1200 calories a day! Also, as you build muscle, it will help you burn fat.
Have you ever felt like you were taking one step forward and two steps back?
Your body will burn these calories on its own to operate the heart, lungs, etc., Your body needs fuel to survive.

Your body has daily requirements for energy in that come form of calories. If your body requires 1200 calories a day to maintain function and you eat 1200 calories a day, you will not gain or lose weight, your body is getting what it needs. If you eat more then that, your body stores the extra as fat in case it needs it later. If you eat less then that, your body breaks down its stores of fat to get the energy it needs to function. Your basal metabolic rate is how many calories your body at your age and height needs to function. If you are trying to lose weight, then you do need to consume less calories then your body requires. Any physical activity you do requires energy, thus it increases the amount of calories your that your body needs. That is why you hear it said diet and exercise help you lose weight.
Not necessarily but on an average. U will not loose unless u burn more than u take in.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
