Will eating too much salt lead to wieght gain?

Question:
i know that it will make you retain water, but will it actually make you fat?

Answers:
in one word, yes. sodium helps your body store water. lots of it. it can make you appear fat, but it IS NOT FAT. you can loose the weight by either cutting down on your sodium intake, or a diuretic pill. hope this helps.
Just go easy if you decide to go with a diuretic. Cranberry juice, liquor and caffenine naturally dehydrate you.
I don't thinksalt has fat. but it will make you swell and look fatter:( that is why when people go on diets they lose 15-25 pounds very quickly then they have to start fighting to get the weight off. they lose fluid (water weight) then they have to strt losing fat.
I don't know about wieght gain, but too much sodium can lead to high blood pressure!
I've noticed, while trying to loose wieght myself, foods high in sodium are also high in fat. Mostly frozen meals! I try to stick with Healthy Choice meals, smaller portions, less sodium!
