Question:
so between work full time & school full time, the only time i have to run is in the early morning at 5. i was running every morning at 5am for 1 mile at 4.9mph. i haven't done it in a while because i hurt my leg. but i'm ready to get back on it, will this help me lose weight or build muscle?
Answers:
Running is great for losing weight and shedding fat. If you want to build muscle you should lift some weights.
Cardio excercises like running on the treadmill are good for shedding unwanted pounds whereas weight lifting builds up that muscle.
You will loose weight by running. It's working great for me. With a constant effort, say like running 3/4 times a week for 40 minutes about 3 miles a day will eventually help you to burn the fat and loose weight and it will not build your muscles at all. Try weights if you want to build your muscles.
hope this helps you.
