Check out a book Called Eat right for your blood type. We all have seperate blood types for a reason. We should feed the individual type with what it recognizes and needs to fuel it's self. I personally lost 10lbs of fat within 2 weeks of cutting out bad things in my diet. Check out the book read the 1st few pages that explain how he came to the revalation. It will make you understand it. Then worry about building muscle with the fuels your body NEEDS not just something that someone else found that works for them.
Oatmeal is a good source of energy and it has other health benefits. Protien is what helps build muscle. You can find it in lean red meats, chicken and fish. Protein supplements are available to help with that also. Oatmeal has some protein and is not considered something to use as for weight loss. His metaboslism may be faster than your but to boost your matabolism just excercise more.
while the oatmeal is a SUPERB choice to include in your diet, you will not make changes through oatmeal alone! you need a balanced diet in order to do this. oatmeal is also known to be filling and curb cravings for sweets. if eating this instead of higher calorie less nutrient dense foods, this could help to make some of his changes.
suggestion (just try it before you judge!) add either low/non fat cottage cheese or protien powder to your oatmeal for a balanced meal/snack.
