A better type of exercise?

Running or swimming for losing some weight?

Swimming is a great way as you can strengthen all of your muscles. Cardio is excellent too. Why cardio?
Here's why cardio is so important:
It's one way to burn calories and help you lose weight
It makes your heart strong so that it doesn't have to work as hard to pump blood
It increases your lung capacity
It helps reduce risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes
It makes you feel good
It helps you sleep better
It helps reduce stress

fast walking for 30 minutes per day ( 5 times a week) is a good exercise which help you to reduce your weight, you need also a prober nutrition program to get the best benefit.

Why not both? Variety tends to lessen the chance of boredom, although the swimming is easier on the body and works more muscles, running is effective also and you may not always choose to go jump in the pool.
I think swimming, because it is more of a total body workout.
Swimming is the best all around exercise.It is no impact-less chance of injury.
