My child is the typical picky 10 yr. old eater. but she loves junk food. What Healthy food can I fix for her?

Question:
to eat for lunch and supper? Something not to difficult or time consuming. Thanks.

Answers:
smoothies
lots of vegetarian foods out there like boca burgers, vegetarian pizza, shumai etc...
Try adding wheat items to her diet instead of white, increasing fiber
bribe her...if she eats her veggies she can have some junk
And remember...you are the parent...if you need to, stop buying the junk!
I dont know about meals but for snacks theres cheese and crackers, fruit milkshakes, apples and peanut butter, or juice.
Well what kind of foods does she like?
try things like sweet potatoe french fries that taste like regular french fries but better for you. make food fun like spider dog hot dogs..

try this webiste its very helpful:

Whole wheat pasta and marinara sauce - toss some frozen meatballs in there if you like.
Baked chicken nuggets (they sell frozen baked ones)
Sweet potato fries
Grilled Cheese on whole wheat bread
Scrambled eggs are good anytime of day.
Quesadillas with some veggies tucked in
Kids that age are NOT typically picky--is she picking it up from you?

If I were you, I would refuse to cater to her-----she needs to develop tastes for a wide variety of foods to be a healthy adult. Make something healthy for the whole family, and insist she eat at least some of it.
If she decides to eat very little, and returns hungry in a couple hours, give her choices:
Tell her"you can have a piece of fresh fruit or a yogurt, or whole wheat toast with cheese or peanut butter". And stick to your guns.

Ditch the junk food entirely--it isn't good for anyone.
try veggies with cheese sauce, I don't think any kid doesn't like that, also look up healthy oatmeal cookie recipes and try getting her to eat peaches or berries or any fruit with vanilla ice cream (or fruit milk shakes), also try cooking with her they became less resistant to trying food if they helped make it
My son is the same way. I know this sounds kind of mean, but the best thing to do is just don't buy any junk food. My son would fill up on junk like chips and candy and then say he's too full to eat his actual food. I stopped buying it altogether and told him to eat his regular food. Eventually, he got hungry and was willing to eat regular healthy food.

If you don't want to cut it out all at once, then keep it away from your daughter until she finishes her regular meals. The junk food could be for dessert.

Healthy meals for her could be pasta with marinara sauce, grilled chicken, peanut butter sandwiches, salads, fruits, cheese, lowfat milk, oatmeal. Basically the same stuff that's considered healthy for adults.

Good luck.
