What is the best way for me to lose weight?

If you cut down 500 calories a day, that equals 1lb loss in one week. It is better to loose weight slowly, with 1-2 lb a week, not more. Protien and carbohydrate have 4 calories per gram, fat has 9 calories per gram. Your total calories from fat should not be more than 30% that may be an easy area to cut back on to drop calories and do something good for your cholesterol levels. Keep refined sugar and fats to a minimum, commercial bakery good are the worst offenders. They are loaded with both fat and sugar. Now this doesn't mean you should deprive your self any food you really like. Having a dunkin dognut now and then is not going to hurt you. " It is best to have a diet that includes all food groups, everything in moderation and not too much of one thing" thats what my nutrition instructor says and she is 70 plus years old, I kid you not, and she is as sharp as a tack, not only that she has clear blue eyes and a healthy glow you don't often see in the seniors.
If you don't have time for exercise think of ways you can build it into your daily routine. For instance leave 10 minutes earlier for your classes and park in lot where you have a good walk to get to your class. Take the stairs , maybe get a stationary bike for at home and prop a book up and study while you peddal. Jumping rope (recomended by my instructor also) is a very good cardio vascular work out, and strech for warm up and cool down .
Eat less.
Build muscle mass to burn up calories.
GO HORSE RIDING''
Go vegan. I lost a lot in only 2 weeks. Also take walks, even just around your neighborhood. Pushing your kid in a stroller will make him tired and easier to put to bed after. Just suggestions :)
instead of looking for that prime parking spot up front...park your car far away and get a little walk in...little things like that
Do exercises you can do right at home like crunches, and squats and things like that. Eat healthy things and less.
Here are some easy exercises you can incorporate into your routine: http://www.dietivity.com/category/obesit...
Maybe a brisk walk around campus in between your class schedule, start with quick execise routine in the mornings or at night.
go vegetarian or vegan and exercise when u can, only 1% of vegans are overweight, dnt listen to ppl who will say u won't get enough nutrition it's not true at all
Beleive it or not, the best way to burn fat is low intensit workouts. Put your baby in the stroller and go for a walk around the block. There's also some videos available that illustrate working out at home with your baby as a weight- so you get to play with you bambino and get a work out too! Sometimes libraries offer workout video rentals- and magazines have online articles- maybe you could look up a fitness or parenting magazine to see if there's any mother-child workouts illustrated.
Well, the best way to start is to set yourself a goal. Set aside time each day to walk 20 minutes. Then work on increasing your exercise and revamping your calorie intake. Try to figure out ways to get the whole family active if you can. It would be great to model healthy activity for your children.
If you really can't quit smoking (and I know nicotine patches can be expensive), go to a hypnotherapist... I'm not sure how much it costs, but one session could make a TON of difference. Smoking isn't good for your health and if you stop smoking, you might be more motivated to lose weight and become EVEN MORE healthy.
Here is a little bit of information on how many calories should be consumed a day:
Sedentary people (little activity)- Weight x 14=estimated calories/day
Moderately active people (3-4 aerobic sessions a week)- Weight x 17 = estimated calories/day
Active People 5-7 aerobic activities per week)- weight x 20 = estimated calories/day
So, if you weigh 150 pounds, and do a 15 minute jog 3-4 days a week, you are moderately active, and should consume 2550 calories a day. *These are rough estimates.
Jogging and walking are really good aerobic excercises! Since you have a baby, walking in a stroller for 15-20 minutes would be a good excercise. Swimming and biking are good excercises too.
Good Luck!!
Momma? Grab the kids and walk. Walking is sooooooo good for you. I walk 3 days a week two miles. I lost 8 pounds in a month. Did not change diet. The key is to MOVE. Walking, is something you can do and get the kids involved. They will love the stroller. Find a routine and stick with it. Heres a tip, walk around a park for a mile to start with then move it up to two miles. After your done walking with the kids in a stroller or wagon, let them play on the swings. They will love the reward of that. You need to find a routine and stick with it. Get the kids involved. There are even exercises out there that include your kids. I used to put my daughter on my legs and do airplane with her and lift my legs while holding on to her hands. She loved it. I got her involved and I got in better shape. She is now 12 and she gets involved by holding my legs and saying goooooooooo mommy you can do it. She walks with me to this day. It gives us time to talk about things going on in her life. I will say, once you start the walking at least a mile, the cigs will slowly decrease. You just have to find the motivation to walk. Thats something I can't give you, your on your own to obtain that. Also, instead of parking close to say a grocery store? Park further away, to add more steps in your daily routine. Have to go to corner store and grab some diapers? Tell the kids, were walking to the store. Adding any little bit of more movement in your day, you will see results. Don't expect this to happen over night. The subtle changes you do in your daily routine will, make a difference.
