Help, I'm too skinny! What can I do?

Question:
I'm 5'3 and 100lbs. When discussing my weight with people I get a mixed reaction, some people say my weight goes well with my height, but others say I could do with putting some weight on as I'm skinny. The only trouble is, I find it really hard to do so. I don't want answers like "eat more" cos this doesn't help as I eat loads anyway. Is there anything that I can do or take to help me put more weight on?
Thanks!

Answers:
Yes you are underweight for your height, I just calculated your Body Mass Index and it's 17.7, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.
You probably just have a very high metabolism, how old are you? If you're in your teens or younger, I wouldn't worry, you will probably still fill out, I used to be really skinny too but once I hit my 20's I started to steadily gain weight.
You could go and see a nutritionist.your GP should be able to refer you, I know you say you're eating lots but you could be eating the wrong things.
First thing is, don't do anything for them, if you're comfortable, just leave it, and tell them, where to stuff it, I had this too!
but if you want to get a little bigger, dont eat more just eat better! try alot of proteing eg. Fish, Meat, Nuts etc. do sit-ups to bulk but give you a great toned body, and remember don't be scared of that extra peice of cake ;)
you don't necessarily have to put fat on to be heavier. you could put muscle on...( muscle weighs more than fat anyway) and it doesn't really matter what the others say, it's important that you feel good.
First of all, stop caring what people say about you. Ask yourself a question, are you feeling ok with your body? Do feel ill sometimes? Someone people put up weight easily whereas some don't. If you are not sure that your weight is right for you, ask for professional medical advice.
If you're fit and healthy then i shouldn't worry too much. some people are naturally skinny same as some people are naturally big. It's what makes the human race more interesting.
If your happy With Yourself Then It Makes No Difference What others Say,Enjoy it While You Can
dont give too much importance to people who say youare skinny...think frm aheight weight perspective you are just fine.
but in any case if you need in increase your weight...here are a few things you can do..eat a min of 5 figs in a day...increase your sugar intake by drinking shakes etc...and so some streching yoga.this shud help...you can expect 1 pound per month
Better too skinny than too fat. I a skinny 51 year old man and have yet to have a health problem, despite eating anything I damn please and smoking for 34 years. Your body will add a pound or two if it feels it needs it. In the meantime, enjoy your great metabolism...where you don't even give that hot fudge cake a second thought-you just eat and enjoy. There are several million overweight folks who would trade with you in a heartbeat.
Hey! I had a similar problem - i'm 4'11" and 100 lbs, naturally slim and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't put on weight. You don't say how old you are, maybe you still have some developing to do. I've noticed i've changed shape in the past year, I haven't put on weight, but i'm a curvier shape now. And i'm so much happier now that i'm not straight up and down looking!

Main thing is that you're happy and healthy. If you're not happy then do as one of the other answerers said. Eat protein etc, and keep fit and toned. Chances are that the people who say you're too skinny are just jealous! Count yourself lucky that you don't have to think about every calorie!!
well I think if you already eat loads then you have nothing to worry about and your the ideal weight.
Eat more.
Don't let anyone tell you that your shape is wrong sweetheart. If you're happy in your bod. leave it at that. Don't forget that those people telling you that you're "too skinny" now, will be admiring your shape and telling you how envious they are as they grow older and begin to put on weight. If you must do something you could always try putting on muscle by exercising, which has got to be healthier than putting on fat.
Ignore what people have to say about u. They will say some thing or the other.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.

Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
u have a high matabolism. how old r u? thats a key factor in ur weight also. i used to eat and eat when i was young but now i have to be careful cuz i start gaining inches. all i can tell u is eat healthy and excersise adn u wont have ntohing to worry about.
hei if feel too skinny you should do some exercises to improve your body structure.i think that it will help you to find the right solution.
you sound about the right weight actually, but are you comfortable with your body? if you really want to put on weight then im sorry but pretty much the only thing you can do is simply eat the greasiest fattiest foods you can!
