1,000 calories per day: Would you get the same results just eating junk as you would healthier foods?

Question:
For example, if I'm obsessed with chocolate, and I consume like 400 out of the 1,000 calories per day by eating chocolate, would I still lose the same amount of weight as I would if I ate healthier foods (fruit, veggies, chicken breast, etc) and reached 1,000 cals?

Answers:
It's the sugar in chocolate that will make you gain weight, not the amount of calories.

Eating more healthy food that will be 400 cals will make you lose weight because of the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. There is nothing in chocolate.
yes you would but the results would be a little slower.

stick to the question people!!! no need to add your own crap
im not sure.but it sure would be more fun
No, sorry. It took me a long time to get that through my head. 100 calories from an apple is used differently by your body than 100 calories from choc. There are different chemical reactions your body undergoes considering the sugar and fat content (and also caffene(sp?). Foods that cause your insulin levels to rise spark you body to make and hold onto fat, etc... There are very few shortcuts to diet and exercise. Most of us will eventually have to just do the work in order to get our bodies healthy. Also, if you are only eating 1000 calories a day, then you are programing your metabolism to decrease. It is difficult to fix that later on. There really are no long term substitutes to a sensible diet and exercise. Of coarse I say this having just finished a donut, a cookie, and now a cheese sandwich with soda. UGGGHHHHH!!!!
Yes. The calories are what determine your weight. However, you would be depriving your body of all the good nutrients it needs to keep working correctly. You need fiber & complex carbs, protein, polyunsaturated & monounsaturated fats, and lots of water in your diet for all your systems to work well, or else it won't matter how skinny you are because you'd be unhealthy.

You should look up different vitamin, mineral, & other nutrient deficiencies that can occur in an unbalanced diet for more information.
no not exactly.
theres fat count and carbs that yoohr not taking into consideration.
you may loose the same ammount of weight, but you'll end up with a fatty tummy or thighs, wherever it tends to go on your body it will add up and just end up flabby. eating sugary foods can lead to high blood pressure & juvenile diabetes which can lead to needing your foot/leg amputated.
watch the junk food and just eat healthy
Eden Rose is correct. You can lose weight by reducing calories and it doesn't matter whether you eat chocolate to get to your 1000 calories, but I wouldn't recommend you doing this.

These are empty calories that do not contain the vitamins, minerals and phydochemicals that get from eating plants.
sugar has nothing to do with whether you lose weight or not, it just affects how quickly you will lose it. it will make you system sluggish so it won't be efficient in losing weight.
it is simple mathematics really - if you stay the same weight and rarely fluctuate, you are probably having the same amount of calories each day - that is the amount you need to maintain that weight because it is the exact amount of calories you burn daily due to just living and whatever exercise you do. therefore if you lower your calories, you body wants to make up the missing energy so starts eating your fat and you lose weight. if you have more calories than you need, you body doesn't use them and stores them as fat so you gain weight.
this doesn't change no matter what foods you eat. but the speed you lose weight does vary depending on what food you eat. for instance, chicken contains protein and would be good to eat because (this is a quote from an article)

"As a macronutrient, protein helps curb your appetite, which may help you lose weight. Compared to carbs and fats -- which are primarily energy sources -- proteins play crucial roles in the body. They provide structural features of body tissue and serve as immune-system antibodies/signaling molecules. In the form of enzymes and hormones, proteins help regulate sleep, DIGESTION and ovulation."

whereas the saturated fat in a chocolate bar is just pure energy and doensn't provide good energy.

so to answer your question, yes technically you would lose weight especially with exercise but if you feel real hunger, you should eat even a little thing like a piece of chicken or fruit, because if you don't you body starts preparing for famine and holds onto any energy it can (ie. chocolate!), so you need to make it think you are feeding it.

i would warn you off this but i would be a hypocrite cos i'm doing the same thing myself!
drink plenty of water.
