Answers:
metabolism is how fast or slow your food is digested-
OK IM GOING TO SY THIS IS VERY PLAIN ENGLISH SO U UNDERSTAND
if you have a slow metabolism you are quite fat
if your metabolism is fast your quite thin
your metolism shud be jsut nromal but you cant control it

hope this helps
drink a good amount of water to achieve a fast metabolism, it's what helps burn fat for energy
Your metabolism is the rate that your body burns off calories that it consumes. A fast metabolism would burn off more calories in a period of time that a slow metabolism would. To increase your metabolism, start working out at a gym and eat healthy foods, like fruits, veggies, fish, lean beef and poultry, and dairy products.

Metabolism is the process by which your body converts stored fats to energy. You burn calories all day long, even while you are sleeping. You have a metabolism already, but it's probably not as efficient as it could be.

A slow metabolism is usually the result of a thyroid condition - it's actually quite rare, and has other symptoms.

Your metabolism increases as muscle mass increases - it takes more energy to sustain muscle tissue than it does fat - a person with a larger ratio of muscle will burn more calories than one who has more fat even if they are just standing still. This is why thin and fit people find it easier to stay thin and fit, and why it can be so hard to lose weight at the start. It's also why just restricting calories is not as effective as diet and exercise - as you increase your muscle mass you increase your metabolism rate.

Some diet pills claim to increase your metabolism - they usually just increase your heart rate, and can be dangerous.

Stick to the basics - exercise (cardio for fat burning and quick weight loss, weight training for muscle building and long term gains like bone density, toning and stretching for flexibility and mobility) and sensible eating with lots of fluids. You'll feel better immediately and it will become a way of life.
Nothing is going to change your metabolic type, you'll have a particular type and this dictates your metabolic rate.

Metabolic typing is a fairly new science and does help many people with various health needs and issues. From people who struggle to lose weight whilst following 'fad' diets, to people who have bad energy crashes and are constantly hungry.

So whether you are just overweight or looking to improve your health Metabolic Typing will help you discover your type and show you which food types are suited to your metabolism and which aren't.

The synopsis and review of this book will help explain further as well as provide you with the info needed to find out your own metabolic type and suggest suitable foods as well as those that should be avoided.

Metabolism is a combination of physical and chemical processes called anabolism and catabolism. Anabolism is the constructive phase of metabolism in which body cells synthesize protoplasm for growth and repair. Catabolism is the destructive phase of metabolism in which complex substances are broken down into simpler compounds producing energy which is essential for the proper functioning of body cells. Together, these processes distribute nutrients which are absorbed into the blood after digestion. Impacting on this process will slow your metabolism.

The best way to jump-start your metabolism is to exercise. Exercise will reduce body fat and increase lean muscle mass. By increasing lean muscle mass, metabolism will increase and aid in the weight-loss process. Muscle tissue uses more calories than fat tissue because it has a higher metabolic rate. Aerobic exercise, like walking, swimming or cycling, has the added bonus of speeding up your metabolism for 4 to 8 hours after you stop exercising. Additional calories will be burned off long after you stop exercising.

If you wish to slow your metabolism down do nothing but eat lots of simple carbohydrates (sweets chocolate sugar etc), drink beer watch the idiots lantern. I would say that within a week your metabolism will come to a grinding halt.

If you feel that you would like to continue your good work read the following...

Eat breakfast!
Breakfast is essential. Your body has been deprived of food throughout the night, therefore your metabolism has slowed. If the cells do not receive sufficient nutrients they will begin to function less efficiently on smaller amounts, and they will actually store more fat to use during these times of nutritional deprivation. Eat six small meals a day to keep your body's fuel supply consistent and keep your metabolism revved up.

Eat fewer high-fat foods and less total calories. Choosing healthy foods, such as lean protein and vegetables, can actually increase your metabolism as well. Increase dietary fiber and limit sugary foods, alcohol, caffeine and don't smoke. The best foods to increase your metabolism and help you lose weight are fish, dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, blueberries and other fruits, whole grains, and at least 8 glasses of water a day.

You must also exercise.
Assuming that your main body controller hormone, thyroxine, is at the right level, you cannot alter your metabolic rate.
Metabolism is the chemical reactions that take place in your cells that are the basis of life. Metabolism can be divided into 2 areas:

Catabolism is the breakdown of food to supply energy.

Anabolism uses the energy from catabolism to make cells.

A slow metabolism means these reactions take place slowly, so les energy is derived from food, so more food is stored as fat.

A fast metabolism means these reactions take place quickly, so lots of energy is used, but not much food is stored as fat.

It is possile to speed up your metabolism by eating lots of small meals throughout the day.
