Laxatives are stimulant meds you buy at the drug department of your store that cause you to have a bowel movement. Normally they are used when you are constipated but dieters sometimes abuse them thinking if they keep having bowel movements they will loose a lot of weight because the body won't absorb the food they ate.

Laxatives are something taken to make you go poop.usually people with eating disorders take them because it flushes out the impurities in your system..instead of making themselves throw up or something they take a bunch of them to make themselves poop it all out instead.as disgustin as that all sounds...

Folks with eating disorders like them because they need to control everything. It comforts them to not have that food (or anything) inside them. There are many reasons for eating disorders that I don't understand.
People with distorted body image always think they are TOO fat and if they take laxatives, they feel they can lose weight.
laxitives give you the runs.people with eating disorders use them b/c it gets rid of everything in there stomach. Its not healthy at all...only use them if you constipated and even then, i wouldnt use them again, i did once because i thought i was constipated but it made me throw up and not even go to the bathroom. It gave me the worse stomach pains EVER and i had a baby!
