Best Diets?
Question:
I know there is Slim Fast out there, the Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet etc. etc.
Is there a way of eating that is easier to stick with? I have a husband and a brother I cook for every night to which can be hard. They love meat and potatoes.
Thanks to everyone who answers.

The idea of making small changes is sound thinking.
The spirit of my weight loss plan is the Body-for-Life plan. It basically is eating at least 6 time per day. Add to this the elimination or reduction of sugars, starches and what is described as bad carbohydrates. Do the research and decide where changes need to be made. The hardest part is not allowing yourself to get too hungry or too full. Just enough is the goal.
The best part of this...is once a week you eat spend a day eating whatever you like...WHATEVER YOU LIKE
You mention that you cook for your husband and brother...and they love meat and potatoes...this is not necessarily bad as long as portions are controlled.
Bottom line is you must burn more calories than you take in. So find something you love to do and get after it.
The diet programs you mentioned are great ways to separate you from your money..
Best wishes.
The eat less and exercise more diet is by far the best. Trust me on this.
Few Eating Tips:
1. When you feel hungry, drink water first, sometimes your body thinks thirst is hunger.
2. Eat whenever you are hungry.
3. Stop eating when you are full even if you are halfway through a meal.
4. ALWAYS eat breakfast
5. If you feel hungry between meal times first head for the fruit bowl.
Sound simple but really work!!
The "best" diet is the one that works for YOU. You need to decide which one you could stick with permanently (which immediately eliminates a lot of them). Instead of looking at temporary diet change, you need to think of a permanent lifestyle change so that you can keep the weight off and be healthy.
Atkins works for me, I love it, but it may not be for you.
