How can I keep from falling asleep at work?


Question:
I stopped smoking a couple of weeks ago and at first coffee seemed to work but lately, it seems to make me want to fall asleep even more after the initial caffeine rush is gone. Is there ancient chinese secret or something to staying awake sitting in front of a computer all day?

try walknig around the office for a few minutes every hour, splashing cold water on your face, slapping yourself..not too hard though!, or drinking coke or pepsi, or something to put caffeine in your system

caffiene makes u even tirder.. just eat something and drink something everytime u feel like your gonna fall asleep. wet your face. it works for me
When i feel like I'm going to fall asleep at my desk, I get up and walk around for a minute. I also get some water. I hope that works for you.
Your body needs something. Try having a snack ready at your desk, (ie. fruit-natural sugars), might also try yo drink alot of water, cold water. Nothing warm. your stomach gets filled with warm food or drink and then your body wants to sleep.
You can do so by making sure, that, you get a very good night's rest the night before. I have found it really works. When your body is getting enough sleep, it is more awake and alive during daytime.

Walking around and talking to people is a great idea. Keep taking breaks from your computer. If possible, just close your eyes for a few minutes and relax. Maybe even time yourself for a 5-10 minute nap. U will feel a little more awake later.

Keep sipping cold water. It helps me.
