When Dieting?
Question:
Answers:
You need to have a deficite of 3,500 calories to lose a pound. Therefor in 20 lbs there are about 70,000 calories. Divide that by 62 days in two months, and you need a deficit of about 1,129 calories each day. Therefor if you normally need a 2,000 calorie diet you would need to have 871 "net" calories. You could do this by consuming 1,500 calories per day and burning 631 calories per day, or by consuming only 871 calories per day (not reccomended) or by eating normally (2,000 calories) but burning off 1,129 calories per day through excersize. Take your pick. Personally though, I wouldn't try to lose so much at once. A half a pound to two pounds per week is considered safe and healthy by most dietitions, depending on your current weight.
the same
but, make sure its healthy food
it depends on how much you excercise. make sure you eat healthy. if you cut junk food and replace it with fruit or vegetables, it should already help. maybe try eating about 1700 cals per day and lots of healthy things.
There is no correct amount of calories per day for everyone. Everyone has different weight activity levels and metabolism. This results in a different amount of calories to sustain weight foe each person. I play provincial rugby and consume about 3500 calories a day. 3500 is also the amount of calories in a pound. If you consume 3500 calories more than your body needs you will gain 1 pound. If you use 3500 calories more than your body needs you will lose 1 pound.
So, 3500 calories per pound times 20 pounds is 70 000 calories extra you need to burn. Divide that by 60 days is 1166.7 extra calories burned per day. A little unrealistic.
Aim for 1 pound a week. That calls for 500 extra calories to be burned a day. Losing weight is long and hard. This way you will see steady results and stay on the diet.
Good Luck.
