How to lose 40 pounds in 3 months?
Question:

I lost around 40 pounds in 3 months, so its definetly possible BUT you need to have a very high motivation to change your lifestyle permanently and be healthy or your going to give up or gain the weight back.
I started off slow and and started reducing the amount of fatty foods i eat, tried to avoid fast food, soda, other junk food by eating is less and less.
And for working out, i started exercising 3 days a week jump roping for atleast 20 minutes a day, doing it to an intensity that keeps you sweating and making your heart work
My goal was to lose atleast 2 pounds a week, most weeks i would lose more than that, around 2-4.
When i started losing more weight, my diet and exercise programs because more serious. I started cutting out more fattening foods from my diet, i started not eating fast food, soda, sugary drinks, or any other king of junk food.
I stopped eating red meat as well, and started having low calorie turkey slices with a piece of toast for dinner.
Most of my food intake came from veggies and fruits, about 85% i would say. I'd snack on fruits and veggies non stop through the entire day, they provide nutrients, natural sugar, and carbs to keep you going.
Only "real" food i ate was at dinner, and that was a small meal.
It sounds like i was starving myself, but i really wasn't eventually your stomach shrinkens and you don't get hungry enough to eat 3-4 times a day, and you fill yourself up on fruits and vegetables
Like i was saying, my exercise regimen also becaming more serious. I started working out longer and more days a week until now i work out 6-7 days a week atleast 30 minutes a day with some strength training every other day.
Before this i weighed around 186 lbs, and now i weigh around 143 pounds. Still trying to lose some extra fat to tone my abs
it worked for me, hopefully youll change your life style as well.
Good luck
Hit the gym honney...you are not that over weight,,,,,,sounds like you need to set your goals a bit more realistic to start try aming for 15 lbs.see how you feel i bet youll look great then try another 15..but truly 155 isnt that bad.just some hard work at the gym and you will be fine...there is honestly no perfect answer its just something you got to accept
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca... This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

The healthy way is to lose 1 or 2 pounds a week.
In order to lose just one pound you have to burn 3,500 more calories than you consume. If you are shooting for a target weight of say, 130 pounds (a more healthy weight for your height), then you should multiply that times 10 to get the amount of calories you should allow yourself to eat daily..
So, lets say you consume 1,300 calories a day. Good. Now set up an exercise program that will burn calories. Take up jogging, or play "Dance, Dance, Revolution" for an hour a day. You'll burn about 600 calories an hour. Good. Do that and you should loose about 1-2 pounds per week.

It says you are already at a good healthy weight for a person of your height. If you want to loose weight, then just go for no more than 20 pounds (maximum) please!
The only people who loose 40 pounds in 3 months are really, really obese people. I mean huge.. These people burn calories like crazy just walking around.
Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy.
It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.
Details such as my experience, meals, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog.
