Everybody says that running helps to lose weight/burn fat, but?

Question:
how far should i run?
and how long will it be until i start to see results?

Answers:
It's not a one day thing. Run everyday if you have time, and half an hour might work...but one hour is even better. Drink water too, it might help. Give it a week or two, you might see results.

really i don't know about that.. I run like all the time.. but I don't seem to be losing or gaining anything.. I just run to get in shape.. I run about 2 to 3 miles a day or whenever I can run that much.. lol
well see how long you can run without losing your breath or getting tired. run at your own pace, do that fer like a week, every other day then two weeks later run a little bit longer and etc

you might wanna watch/change your diet if you wanna lose fat
run at least 40-60 minutes. you will see results in a week if you dont eat like a pig.
well.. are you a good runner? have you had much experience with this?

you should see results within a week. you'll feel different and much better. of course, this all depends on what you're eating too.

if you haven't ran before try running/brisk walk.

run for 2 mins, walk for 2 mins.. and then pick it up a notch and see how you feel... to start off with try and do 30 minutes all up? you should also do weights in your training.

maybe 2-3 times a week, that also helps burn the fat and keep you in good shape
Running is an aerobic exercise. It's claimed that after 20 minutes of continuous aerobic exercise the body is beginning the process towards burning fat. How far should you run all depends on how fast you run for 20 minutes. Results vary from one to another, and depends on what you do after the exercise. Eating a banana split after the run would be pointless. Eating something that is non-fat, but provides energy to the body is better.
Doing cardio/ er running 3 times a week worked for me with a diet on low fats, every time you run you should keep the heart rate at 80% of suggested maximum for your age, and fitness level for a period of 45 minutes. that doesn't include stretching warm-up and cool down. you should see results in a week, but don't think you only have to fill the gas tank once and it will always be full.
You don't have to be a good runner to exercise. Run for 30-60 minutes a day and eat healthy food only. It is also important to talk to a professional. You don't need to schedule appointments for that or ven get out of the house. well it all depends... really it doesn't matter how far, how fast, or how hard you run... It all depends on the person and what he/she does... if u eat like crazy then of course ur not gonna lose weight b/c u haven't changed ur diet... if you have a slow metabolism then you have to limit what you eat and how much/fast you eat... what i learned is that if you eat slowly *pace yourself* then your body can analyze how much you've eaten... but if you eat fast then your body can't tell how much you've eaten so your body won't tell you if you really are full or not... In my case i have a extremely fast metabolic rate... also i don't eat alot... so when i do eat it really doesn't matter what or how much i eat... my body can process what it took in and burn that energy in a short time... but back to your question... i run 5 miles everyday... this is my training for stamina *soccer training*... what i've noticed from my running is that within about 2 weeks or so i lost around 10 to 15 pounds... thats just me... maybe its because of my age *high school*... but really i've noticed quite a change in my body... i became more fit
if what i said helps that's good ^.^

i some steps that might help too
check it out:
1. eat slower *drink water its the best*
2. watch what you eat *not too many sweets for you T.T*
3. 30min to an hour of work out everyday then after about a week or 2 change the time to 1 hour to 2 hours
4. crunches, push-ups, sit-ups

thats not all but im kinda tired of writing

Running does not help to burn fat - but tones you. Your body is burning more carbohydrates and protein during running than fat and it will help muscle development but if you specifically want fat burned, walking is a far more effective way of doing because walking burns more fat than running (even though it doesnt burn more calories)
