How much exercise is recomended?

Question:
I am a 17 y.o. girl, I weigh 135 I am 5'10" and I go to the gym. What kind of exercises should I do to stay in shape and toned and how much should I work out? My parent often think I work out too much, so I was jw.

Answers:
Since you aren't overweight, I recommend you do cardio exercise (treadmill walking/running, stationary biking, step aerobics...) for 30 mins per session, 3-4 times per week, to maintain your weight.

Cardio exercise helps crank up your metabolism to burn off fat, so you'll stay in shape.

Tone your body by doing Pilates. It's really a very good whole body toner - it sculpts, strengthens, stretches and balances all muscles in your body (especially your abs, back, thighs, butts and spine) all at one go.

Do it 3-4 times per week for 20 - 30 mins per session. You'll have leaner, sleeker and sexier body shape in about 3 months.
as much as possible! :)

If I was you I would do a 20-30 minute workout...you can go for up to an hour but anything over that isnt going to do you much good. You need to switch up your workout so your body doesnt get used to it because then it will just go with the flow and wont have any effect of making you stronger or anything due to its being used to it. Walking at a fast pace is good mixed with doing a 1-2 minute sprint every 10 minutes or so (just to throw your body off a bit), using a rowing machine is a pretty good full body workout (row faster in 2 minute intervals every 5-10 minutes). Also using the Elliptical machine is great (running without the impact)...just run at a faster rate every 10 minutes for 2 minutes at a time. Good luck!!
