Question:
Last time I got something that was obviously copy/pasted from another website and didn't even pertain to my question. Hrmph. Don't you hate that?

Answers:
tinydancer is right...we have the same career that is probably why we have the same training. I would only add that increasing your water consumption and listen to your body. The water will increase your metabolism and allow weight loss to be faster and allow your workouts to be more rewarding.
When you listen to your body...pay attention to pain. Running is a high impact sport and is the most likely cardio workout to cause injury. Sometimes speed walking for longer periods of time can be more effective when weight loss is the goal.
But always watch your heart rate!
It isn't about how many miles a day you run it is about maintaining your heart rate in a certain zone for a set amount of time. Let me explain. To figure out your max heart rate take 220 and subtract your age. That number is the fastest your heart should ever go. It is your max heart rate. When your goal is weight loss you want to work at 40-70% of that number for at least twenty minutes at least four times a week. If you push too hard you will make yourself more prone to injury and you will not increase your weight loss, only lower your energy and lengthen your recovery time. Once you getto a weight you like to build endurance, athletes maintain 70-85% of their max throughout their workout. You should never spend time at your max, it will putt undue stress on your heart and cardiovascular system.

Hope this helps! It is all my words...no cut and paste from me!
try jogging on it while watching your fav tv shows...
Depends how fast you run. Your body starts burning calories after 30 minutes, so I recommend running for an hour. That equates to about 6 miles for me because I run slow. Don't run every day if you're going over 2 or 3 miles, go every other day. On the opposite days, chug water to keep from overeating.
It depends on how much weight you want to lose and by when. It also depends on how many calories you eat every day and how fast you would be running. How much you weigh makes a difference, too. Be more specific and maybe I can answer your question!
