A few question about excercising...?

Question:
Right now I'm running 14 minutes a day (and building up). 7 in the afternoon. and 7 at night. Is it better that I do it like that, or should I run it all at one time? Another question is I've heard if you wear more layers when you exercise it helps you lose more weight. Would you recommend that since I run outside and it gets hot pretty quickly?

Answers:
no, running two different times is better. when you run in one long session, your body starts running out of carbohydrates, and, after it's used up a certain number of fat cells, it moves on to protein. it doesn't sound that bad (that it's using protein), but it is. protein is what feeds the muscle, and when there's no protein, the muscle dies, slowing down your metabolism. that's why weight lifting helps obesity -- it speeds up your metabolism. it's also more effective for losing weight that jogging is, i believe.

and yes. the more layers you wear, the hotter your body gets and the more sweaty you get. although, it is somewhat dangerous i believe. still, i do it whenever i do crunches/sit ups/anything with abs.
I would not recommend wearing layers at all. The reason your body sweats is too cool you down, your body wants to maintain an optimal temperature for survival, you risk heat stroke if you try and exercise and not allow your body to throw off heat. Running and muscle activity in general produces heat, which you body needs to get rid of. It is hard for your body to do that if it is already hot outside. Run in the morning and evening when it is cooler.
Running 7 minutes at a time isn't a lot if your trying to loose weight or even get in shape. If 14 minutes a day is all you can or your schedule allows you then definitely do it all at once but, you should try on running at least 30 minutes a day. About running with layers...its summer time your gonna kill your self, instead add some short sprints in your run, like every 4-6 minutes do a full out 30-50 meter sprint then return to normal pace. That burns a bunch of calories.
