I have very muscular legs above the knee how can i lose some of the muscle?

Turn vegetarian and eat way less protein. I lossed 30lbs (most of which was muscle) in thailand mostly from my change in diet. I ate a lot of carbs (rice and fruit) and removed most meats from my diet.
i wasn't even dieting it was just the cuisine is so different over there.

I would stop running.
You gain a lot of muscle when you run, so it would make since to stop.
You can still exercise without gaining muscle.
Try walking instead of running
