10 - 15 pounds by august 31st?


Question:
If I eat hardly anything just a bite or two of something a day and exercise for at least an hour a day can i lose 10 - 15 pounds by august 31st? if im 5'2 and 120 lbs?

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As far as a "healthy weight", that's what most of the other posts are about (calculating your BMI, diet plans, etc). but most people will say what the "average" is according to different opinions.

As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more

I wouldn't think so. You need to be able to give your body the nutrients it needs, and by eating very little you won't do that. Your already 120 pounds. It sounds like you don't need to lose anymore.
you dont need to lose weight.. your at a healthy weight right now. If you dont eat, you're gonna look like you gained weight because your body will feed off the fat you have. <not good!
You just need to eat the right foods, but not nothing at all. Yes if you excersice, you will lose weight, but probably not that much.
You are at a healthy weight and you would be harming your body if you dropped that much weight that fast.
Not many people know. But by eating normally and exercising for average of two hours you can lose like two to three pounds a day.

thats very very unhealthy and dangerous to put your body through working out and barely feeding it everyday. i know its aggravating and frustrating to lose weight but if you don't keep it healthy you will surely gain the weight back fast and could get seriously healthy problems later in life. thats putting yourself on a starvation mode. i'd say the best thing to do is to do a smoothie fast for all of august. talk to your doctor before hand and he'll give you the smoothie recopies and which ones would work best for you.
Your looking at it wrong... read some macrobiotic stuff, good idea's in their things. Also weight lifters... although watch out for them, lol.

If you break your meals up to every 3 hours your body will keep breaking down foods/just make them small, snacks.. something every 3 hours. To eventually level out into a normal diet. I don't know what everyone thinks about that idea but if you get hungry inbetween meals through the day/after you work out then your body isn't really working right, its searching for energy sources and attacking muscle or fat... Its why people who want to loose weight and eat cottage cheese on celery once a day normally have a bad physique/aren't healthy/can't loose weight and keep trying to eat less.

Note : Healthy weights shouldn't really be looked at as a staple. If you want to weight less you can, if your just looking to be anorexic then go for it. If lowering your overall body's healthiness makes you feel beautiful then thats perfect for you, and I have no problem with it. But the true way to loose weight is to work out not by a schedule but by just making it part of your life, taking a hike... or doing pushups between rounds of a game. And keeping your body fed so it can work, if you cant do a pushup because you havent ate do you really think your body can burn off fat? 10-15 pounds in less than 4 weeks is a bit odd tho, I went from 180-145 in 3 months so it isnt impossible, just a bit of a stretch. Most likely if you start living healthily/sensibly now tho your going to look in the mirror aug 31'st and say "i dont need to loose that extra 5 pounds".. because you'll look ok. But if your doing if for anything else then your just screwed because they weigh you and all. Goodluck!

Sidenote for one of the other posts : Loosing weight and burning fat may be viewed as 2 differen't things. I can work out for 2 hours lifting weights, gain some muscle, but then again as your bodys fixing the muscle your loosing weight too. I seriously went down a lot and quick... no probs, felt healthier.. but I was eating a completely macrobiotic lifestyle. Your typical view of "loosing weight".. is getting skinny, but there are things beyond that to take into account. Muscle, weight, fat... biking would burn off a ton and quick, but if you have the weight on you already using the weight to work itself off (aka pushups, situps).. helps too..

Honestly theres no true way to loose the weight, theres only enlightenment in how to really loose weight - not through diets but through lifestyle changes. Through determination and perceverance. everything else you may do is just a fad.
Eating very little will not help you. It will shut down your metabolism and you won't lose anything no matter how much you excersize. Eat 600-700 calories a day, and bike about 2 hours a day. If you do that, you'll burn about 250 more calories than you consumed, PLUS your body is always burning calories. I can't promise 10-15 pounds, but you'll lose something! I recommend fruits and vegetables.
Bad news for you. It is not possilbe to loose 10-15 pounds in 3 weeks. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week!! It would be in your best interest to know this is not possible for you but that doesn't mean you can't start living a more active lifestyle and eating better. Get up and moving. Walking, biking, etc. Any movement will help burn calories. Do intervals (1-2 minutes at a regular pace and then 1 minute at a faster pace) is a great way to lose weight. Also, make sure you are eating fruits and vegetables and lean proteins (chicken, fish, turkety) to help with the weight loss.
