Do any of these diets work? (people with experience please answer)?

Question:
I was just wondering if "the apple diet" or "the banana diet" or "the tea diet" or "the liquid diet" work. like, any of them.
apple diet - just eating apples & yogurt
banana diet - just eating bananas & milk
tea diet - just drinking tea
liquid diet - just drinking liquids.
thanks :)

Answers:
ANY of those will cause weight loss. However, because they are so restrictive and low calorie you will immediately put the weight back on when you stop using the diet...because you cannot continue to eat/drink that way indefinitely.

This is the case with most diets...they contribute to weightloss because eating so few calories HAS to...but if the dieter hasn't learned to make a lifestyle change for long term, they are a waste of time.

Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet all the time...and exercise 5 days a week (shoot for 1 hour a day) and you'll lose weight the healthy way. When you reach your goal, you can make an adjustment to your eating and/or your exercise so that you maintain weight, not keep losing.

Good luck.
no they don't ******* work go away damn it
I have tried the apple diet and the banana diets and they dont work because you end up getting hungrier and intaking more potions of calories than better for you and small wise ideas. check out places like redbook.com, good housekeeping, and other sites like that for really good diet ideas and how to combat cravings and make them healthier. Good Luck!
*Well I am assuming the liquid diet works to some extent, considering people do the liquid fasting diets, and they seem to lose weight.*

.As for the tea diet, I would catergorize that into "liquids" so I would assume it would work similar to just drinking water etc.

.I don't know about the banana and milk or the apple and yogurt though. I've never heard of either.

.If you want to do a liquid diet, then just try the fasting diet.

*I have not personally done the fasting yet, but I know people that have..and they've lost weight and "cleansed" at the same time.*
Any diet that has you eating but bananas and milk will cause you to lose weight. This is certainly not healthy and would be impossible to be a long term solution to weight loss. Not one of the diets you mention has a balanced nutritional portfolio. You still need carbs, protein, fats and sugars, regardless of the 'diet' you are on.
You might think that they work because one could lose *some* (i.e. a tiny bit) weight right off the bat, but that's pretty much just water weight. These diets are called fad diets and they are NOT healthy. Even if you do lose weight from a diet like this you will put the weight right back on as soon as you start eating normally again...and probably a few extra too...so if you're really trying to lose weight stay away from diets like these. Plus, eating the same foods over and over will cause boredom with the diet and could potentially cause a binge.

Your best option really is going to be eating a reduced calorie diet that is high in protein and veggies and low on starches and sugar. Get in the right amount of nutrients every day that your body needs to function, drink lots of water and exercise. Sounds like a lot of work, but it actually DOES WORK and you're much more likely to keep the weight off this way.
To tell you the truth, I've never tried those diets, because I don't diet... but they all sound like a an utter load of rubbish to me. You'd lack some important nutrients, I'm sure, from other kinds of food if you secluded yourself to just apples or banana's, etc, etc. Then again, I'm not a nutritionist. This is just what I think.
Don't know about those...but I lost 28 lbs on the grapefruit diet. All I did was eat grapefruit from the time I woke up till supper time...then eat something sensible ( I once even ate Pizza). Just eat grapefruit everytime you want to snack on or eat something...you will get rid of the weight...you will also grow to hate grapefruit. Hope your not to Fructose intolerant...The acids in grapefruit can also put little sores on your tongue and the inside of your mouth...not painful, just kinda gross.
