Can you combine Detox with gym workout?

Question:
im planning to do a Detox (fasting?) (lemon, warm water, cayenne pepper and honey) for 10 - 14 days.. also, i started working out in the gym.. can i still do the gym workout and the detox at the same time even if i will not have solid food intake? is it safe?

Answers:
Firstly detox is a useless myth started by constipated Edwardians who took little fibre, it has no health benefits at all. Secondly fasting is potentially harmful, it switches the body into a catabolic mode which breaks down not only fat, but muscle in order to provide the body with calories. This may damage the muscle which makes up the heart and is why yo-yo dieting, when this happens repeatedly is thought to lower life expectancy.
If you are exercising as well, while doing this fast, you calorie requirements will rise still further, forcing more muscle break down and increasing the risk. Medically and metabolically what you are planning is both unhealthy and potentially dangerous.
you need energy to work out at the gym, if the honey in your diet can provide enough carbo calories to keep your system functioning during this detox period, I would wait until after to get to the gym when you have a more complete/nutritional diet.
