What does everyone eat when they are dieting?

Question:
I have been dieting for a while, I need some new food ideas. Recipies, or just a food list. Thanks.

Answers:
Honestly, I eat pretty much everything I eat when I don't diet, except I eat certain things in moderation (sweets, heavy fats, etc.) and control my portions. I also eat every three hours, with snacks between meals. If you restrict your food choices, you have a greater chance of giving up on your diet or binging; eat whatever you want, but do it in moderation, and you'll be fine.
Put cottage cheese on your salad instead of dressing. It helps you feel full and gives you calcium your body needs. Eat whole grains and veggies with the other stuff.
I eat lots of fish, protein and fresh vegetables. It helped me lose lots of weight in the last 6 months.
I actually just started a diet last sunday and I've lost 8 pounds since. All I'm doing is eating a piece of fruit for breakfast, a piece of fruit for lunch, and then either tuna, chicken, salmon... (protein), a salad, or something low calorie for dinner.

I only drink water, and then as far as a workout I've been getting on the tread mill for about an hour a night. Half walking/half running.

I've tried the South Beach Diet and The Atkins diet and though they both work it's hard to keep the weight off if you don't change your entire life style. So...for me this has been the best. I'm never starving and I feel better knowing that I'm doing it the healthy way.
-Granola bars.. keep you full for quite a while
-Low-fat Milk
-Lots of water.
-Veggies
-Banana.. masks cravings
