if you can, go to a nutrition specialist or a dietician. they wiull tell you what a healthy balanced diet is for you and what/when you should eat. if those options are not available, do some internet research into healthy eating habits. then, i'd hit the gym if i were you! working out will help yoru body lose weight. but be aware, you'r not gonna get washboard abs by only doing crunches or something! your excercise needs to be balanced, the same as your food. do a whole body workout. think of it this way: you usually notice that people are losing weight b/c you can see it around their face, but how many people at the gym do you see doing face excercises?
don't give up! it WILL be hard and it will not be fun, but keep trying. set goals for yourself. start simple, somthing like cutting back on soda or not snacking so much throughout the day. it helps if you WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS and post them in a place where you can see them. that way you are reminded and less likely to follow thru. don't let that little voicetell you it's ok to break your goals "just this once." and back to the soda thing, a good goal is to cut soda completely from your diet if you can (unless you already have.) that is a major weight gain-er. it's fine if you have a soda or two at a party, but don't go drinking it at school for lunch or have one after school with a snack or something. another simple thing to do is take a gym class or participate in a sport. it will help keep you active!
