Is this a healthy diet?

Question:
Alright, here's the deal. My girlfriend is starting a new diet, and I'm making sure it's healthy. She calls it the Nutri-Grain Diet. Basically, you eat two Nutri-Grain Bars a day, plus a small dinner. She didn't go into detail what a small dinner is, but knowing her, it's probably the equivalent to half a bowl of spaghetti. I told her that this was not healthy, and she got all pissed off. My question is, is it healthy?

Answers:
you are wright - its not healthy. She might lose some weight by starving herself but its gona be only water weight and muscle not fat and she will also slow down her metabolism and then gain back all or more than lost because she is not gona be able to maintain her eating habits. For diet to be healthy you have to be able to follow it every day of your life not just a few days or weeks.
It's not only unhealthy, it's stupid.
Yeah I'm sure Nutri-Grain diet is code for I pulled this out of my *** diet. Not healthy at all.
A diet based around bars is never healthy. You need real food with real vitamins and nutrients. A bar is only good if you have something with it or you only have one a day. Two a day is not good. I bet if I look at those nutrition labels I can find a ton of sugar in each.

Tell her to eat better food, REAL food as in pasta, whole wheat bread, certain healthy fishes, turkey, chicken, brown rice, etc. Do research into best/worst foods in terms of those with carbs/proteins/vitamins etc.

She's in the right mindframe so dont completely turn her off, just tell her to replace one of the bars with a real meal. :-)
Hahah..an excuse to eat fat food..lol
Not a very healthy diet at all... no veggies or fruit and very little protein. Not to mention she's probably consuming only 600 calories a day which is significantly less than recommended (1,500-2,000 a day for women)
Here's a great tip for weight lose, check out Michael Thurmond!.. Oh my goodness it is the best! You eat more and loose weight. MY aunt did it and inspired me. The key is you have to love food and love to eat. I ordered it and it works.

Trust me! you wont starve, its completely healthy. it changes your life style. I know because I'm on it. my Aunt lost over 80 pounds by just eating!!

6 weeks, only 6 weeks they guarantee 30 lbs lose.
It does NOT sound healthy. She needs vegetables, fruits, nuts, low fat dairy (cheeses, milk, yogurt), fish, chicken, or lower fat meat and whole grains. THAT would be a good diet. Stay away from soda; drink water (lemon in the water is a nice touch) and stay away from artificial sweetners (articles have been written to say they seem to encourage obesity
Totally NOT healthy. The best way to lose weight is a life change. I would suggest the Body for Life diet - a 12 week program that balances healthy eating and exercise. Friends of ours have gone on it and lost over 40lbs while get completely toned. I've also tried out the eating piece without exercise and lost several pounds within two weeks.
It's not healthy - nutrigrain is supposed to be a snack. She sabotaging her diet with this, because she's not taking on enough nutrients. Not to mention, she's starving herself So her body will go into defense and begin to store everything she eats as fat. She may lose the weight, but she'll gain it all back once she starts eating normally again.
