1,000 calorie diet, 12 year old girl.?
Question:
Answers:
Definitely not. If you continue to diet and exercise like that then there is a good possibility that you might develop a eating disorder. If everyone say's you look fine, then you do. Just do some extracurricular activities or go out and do something instead of watching tv and playing videos games. Eat vegetables and don't eat a lot of candy and drink a lot of soda. That stomach will go away.
You burn 1,700 calories exercising are you exercising for like 4 hours?
Uhh you gonna loost like 10 lbs and gain them all back + more try 1-2 a weak.
Eat 1,700 insted of 2,000 not 1,000.
Do NOT limit your eating--it is very bad for your body and ontop of that you will not grow. Limiting what you consume at such a young, growing age will cause you to stunt in growth. Remember, you can lose weight later in life but you can NOT grow any taller!
And yes, you do seem like a average healthy girl ^^ Don't worry about your stomach, it'll either dissapear as you grow or you can just do a few sit-ups a day and get rid of it. Trust me, just concentrate in school :) I had a similar problem with my thighs but suddenly I grew a inch or two this year and while I weigh the same, my ugly thighs are gone ^^
If you do exercise though and want to change your diet, instead of limiting yourself to a certain amount of calories, just eat alot of healthier foods and excercise. Counting calories can lead you to aneorexia and I really don't want you to become part of a ugly statistic >_<;;
Good luck!

The answer is PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! If you do, you will damage your body, possible seriously, and possibly with long term repurcussions.
The reason why is that you are active and growing. Your body is trying to grow and needs a good healthy diet in order to do so. If you do this diet for very long, 3 very bad things will happen. Your skeleton will continue to grow, but it will be weakened by the lack of proper nutrients. You may have back trouble early in life. You may suffer early osteoporosis because of it.
The second thing is, that your body will get the calories it needs from somewhere. That means that it will use your muscles. You will literally eat the muscle away from your body. You need them, they are healthy weight, and each pound of muscle that you have, simply because it is muscle, will burn 9 calories an hour. That means that if you gain 10 lbs of muscle, you are burning 90 calories an hour just to support it. See what happens over the course of a day?
That's why really muscular guys can eat like crazy and not get heavy. However - as a female, you don't have enough testosterone (and never will) to develop bulky muscles. The women bodybuilders you've seen that are way out there have taken steroids. The healthy ones that aren't bulky - like Gabriella Reece, work out hard. They have muscle, but they have a beautiful shape. You shouldn't be lifting weights seriously yet, but keep this in mind.
The third thing that will happen - is that your body will react as if it is in starvation mode. Your metabolism will slow down dramatically. It will hang on to every calorie that comes through your lips. Your energy level will be in the toilet, and you won't lose weight until you give your body no choice, and then, it won't be weight that you wanted to lose. Worst case scenario - if you take this to the extreme, you will suffer organ damage.
Also - although your buddies in school might try to tell you otherwise, if you check some really good sources, you'll find that there is no such thing as what is called "spot reducing". It's a very common myth. In other words - sit up do not take fat away from your middle. In fact, sit ups burn calories so slowly, that they don't help nearly as much as something like swimming or cycling. They help because they tighten up the muscles that support your guts. It LOOKS like you lost weight, but you can tighten your stomach instantly and see the same effect. When the ab muscles are fit and toned, they stay somewhat tight all the time. That's what you need to do - and do crunches - not sit ups. True sit ups exercise your hip flexor muscles, not your gut muscles. Crunches hit your stomach abs and are better for your back.
So - keep exercising, do crunches, and please KEEP EATING! (good stuff though.). If you want to keep fat to a minimum, run or swim every day, but also - do calisthenics and very light weight training. You shouldn't do heavy weights at your age, because it can damage the growth plates on the ends of your bones if you do, but light stuff is good and will help you with sports and your body shape.
If you have any doubt about any of this, please print this and take it and ask a good professional fitness trainer if it's all valid. You might trust their info more as well if they are female.
I don't know alot of things, but this is some stuff that I am extremely certain of.
Good luck!
