Does drinking green tea really slim us down?

Question:
What a wonderful way to slim down if it takes drinking green tea only! :D

Answers:
Yes it does! It helps suppress the appetite plus it flushes toxins out of the body... I used to drink 2 cups a day and I need to start back again because it truly keeps u thin.
I some teas cause your system to purge itself. Woo Long tea will do this. I think that is what your info is referring to.
My sister drank many different types of green tea in order to slim down. She found two which worked, but they had the effect of laxitives, i.e. she had diarrhoea all the time. She had an amazing figure but it was not practical as she was in universtiy and her need for the toilet clashed with her work, therefore she stopped and eventually the weight came back.
It is said (and a commonly held belief in Chinese culture) that drinking green tea, and some other kinds of teas including Oolong inhibit the bodies absorption of fats, drinking green tea both before and after a meal is said to be beneficial.
Study findings reported in the January 2005 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition report that substances known as catechins, which are found in green tea, may stimulate the body to burn calories, in turn decreasing body fat. These same catechins are also rich in anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, giving green tea even more of a punch. An added bonus: Green tea can be as satisfying as a frosty cold soda. Look for different varieties; pear green tea, for example, served iced, will make a tasty and refreshing drink in the hot months to come.
Green tea is yummy!!
But we all know the best way to loose weight is to eat healthy and exersise
The first known effect of green tea is it flushes out toxins and increase metabolism: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/dietweightlo...
Yes it does. A big part of a healthy diet is to reduce the toxins in your body. Keep your digestive system as clean as possible. Green tea is helping you to do that. Of course it depends on your weight. If you are heavy, two tiny cups of tea will not do any good. Also depends the concentration of the tea. If you make it light, like a jasmine tea, probably it won't make any difference. It also depends on regularity. Occasional tea drinkers will not have the effect, so if it's surving a purpose, I suggest to drink it pretty often and regularely. If you want to loose weight in natural way or even just to keep your digestive system in shape, I suggest to drink green tea every day, 1 big cup at lunch time and 1 big cup in the afternoon as a start - of course you can increase the dosage later (not evening because it will make u use the toilet too often :-) and have a cup of hot water (as hot as you can support) with raw lemon juice (no sugar) in the morning. The human body has a cleaning session in the morning. That lasts normally until 10 o'clock. Everything you eat at that time is breaking your cleaning process and all your body's energy will be focused on digesting the breakfast. So I suggest instead of having sausage or solid food for breakfast, try to have liquids. Like make carrots, fruits into liquid form with a blander, and drink that. In this way you will facilitate your cleaning process and meanwhile you will enter a lot of vitamins into your body. I really recommend the hot water with the lemon because it's acidic and it's hot, so it's just like washing dishes, it cleans your digestive system from fat agents.
