Why is weight such a big issue?

Question:
It's always I need to lose weight or my legs are getting bigger. NOO I can't eat that cup cake it'll go straight to my butt!
OMG MY PANTS ARE GETTING TIGHTER.
Shut up already jee willikers.
I'm not way over weight but i'm a little chubby. I mean I have a booty all right. But whenever i'm starting to feel okay with my body someone skinnier then me will say something like i'm soo fat or I really need to lose weight. Then i'm back to being a fatty. Does anyone else agree with me?

Answers:
There is no problem with being a little chubby, it is when people become clinically obese that medical problems arise...as for the skinny people, they are the freaks...it's not normal to be rail thin, no matter what magazines and TV say, as long as you are comfortable with your body and you're healthy then people should just shut the F* up
ohhh yeaaa. im not like obese, but im not a stick... :) ive gotten to the point that i know its not healthy, and that i need to loose weight. but im comfortable with who i am.. And really thats all you need.. If you want to loose weight, it has to be for YOU, you can never loose weight just to please someone else.. :)
But hey, embrace yourself, love the skin your in.. i know i do:)
Have a goooood day, ddont worry about being" chunky".. :)
Totally agree; as long as you feel good about yourself is all that matters. Take care of your body now because later on your eating habits will make a big difference, they don't affect you as much when you're younger. :)

Self confidence is more important no matter what size you are.
To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As far as a "healthy weight", that's what most of the other posts are about (calculating your BMI, diet plans, etc). but most people will say what the "average" is according to different opinions.

As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more
Yeah, there's such a distorted body image in the media today. people who weigh the normal, healthy weight for their height are called fat, but the super-skinny starving girls are praised. Some people are naturally thin, and others are naturally curvier, but it's not right that so many people lose an unhealthy amount of weight.
On YouQA.com , there are so many little girls who give their height and weight, and ask if they are fat. And they never are, so it sucks that these kids are so doubtful of their bodies.
I toally know what you are going through...it's hard to see more beautiful and skinnier girls than me.I hate it! My sister ..she can eat a whole pizza and not gain a single pound. It's not fair!
Well looks like it's time for a man (who has an opinion that actually counts for something in this world) to step in!

Being fat's not cool. Dudes don't dig on fat chicks, and that is a scientific fact. Even if you are comfortable with how you look, that doesnt mean that everybody else is. I mean, what's wrong with losing a little bit of weight? It's healthier, it'll make you more attractive, and it's better than just being "good enough." I don't know anybody who doesn't want to look like a model.

Don't fool yourself into thinking that big is beautiful or some other ridiculous new age nonsense because that's simply not true.

I agree with you.

However, I have a little different view. I could care less what I weigh as long as I feel fit, sexy, healthy and strong enough to enjoy my most extreme hobbies. I do need muscle for these things therefore, I workout (but I enjoy working out.)

And, as long as I can eat what I want!

I have an "everything in moderation" attitude towards life that really works well. I can eat an ice cream sundae if I want, but I don't binge. I also don't starve myself, nor would I ever consider a crazy diet or diet pills. I like to strength train, but I would never be a body builder.
gallstaff1 is an ignorant naff. "Scientific fact" - please.
yes i agree with you i know what you are feelingand what your talking about
ya unless theres a reason, like a sport that you need to be a certain body shape for, i think we go overboard. im average but i always think im fat...then agian i am in a sport that requires a certain body type ^_~

anyway i think people should be able to act the way they want. some people like the feeling of being thin. some dont care

leave everythign be
other skinny girls will tell u that because there self conscious and putting u down will make them feel better if your were self conscious like them you would be staving your self if u really believe that ur fatty then ask your doctor the next time you go
well i always been thin around 126-128lbs i think it's in family history neither of my parent's r big
so thats the way i see it
and for being chubby well i truly like those kinds
