After a hard work out at the gym?

Question:
Yesterday i did quite a bit of weight training at the gym, today my muscles ache, is it best to wait till the aching goes down to go to the gym again or am i ok to go again today?

Answers:
Basically this is called DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and is essentially your muscle repairing itself.

If you do not allow time for your muscle to repair itself you will not make any gains and render training useless.

Yes it is okay to go to the gym again, but concentrate on another muscle group or better yet, just do cardio.

Furthermore you need to incorporate two good rest days (doing nothing) every week into your training schedule.
3 times a week is enough you're not supposed go 2 days in a row
yeah wait a day or two
no youll get mano
no you went to hard at it yesterday// the golden rule is whenever you feel pain ease off and that applies to all gymnastics
It depends.

Did you do a total body workout? If so, yes you should wait a few days before hitting the gym.

Say if you only did biceps yesterday, it would be fine to do legs.
You are ok to go again, but be aware that if you are aching, you may not train to your maximum potential today. That is why people prefer to wait a day or 2 so that the next time you're in the gym you can work as hard as you did last time! Enjoy the ache, it's a great feeling, and it shows you have been training at the right level.
