Yikes!! I don't think he'll think it's a good idea for too long...
Sparkpeople.com is a great resource for this sort of thing. It gives anyone all the information about a healthy lifestyle they would ever want to know. Registering takes a few minutes... but the site is completely free. I use the fitness tracker and nutrition trackers all the time...as well as sparkrecipes.com (you don't have to register to check out the recipes, but some features on the site can't be accessed unless you join.)
My guess is he won't be able to do it because it will get boring and that burger (or burrito, or taco, or ...whatever...) will look really good from the fast food place across the street. ...at least that's what happened to me when I tried to eat cereal and oatmeal and flavorless foods.
I don't know what your friend likes, but, since 1 serving of total is about 100 calories, there is a link below to a search page of lower calorie recipes (100-200, some more, some less.), that may help keep him from getting bored. My guess is he'll be a lot happier if he finds different things he likes that won't get boring. and eating more than 1200 calories (which is the low side for women-1550 is the high side) a day of "Good foods" would benefit him more in the long run (keeping his body healthy) than a crash diet of 200-300 calories per day, and NO WHERE NEAR all the nutrients needed to keep all the vital organs in the body working properly. There is also a recipe calculator you can use if you register, that will calculate the nutrition facts in use entered recipes, and it can help figure out how to make them healthier (...or, you can enter the food your looking for, and see if there's a healthier ingredient that pops up with it.)--and some people don't know how to use the calculator thing, so some--not too many, but I have come across two recipes that were completely wrong...(a mushroom omelet using three whole eggs that only has 71 calories...HA!)...just an warning.
--most of the recipes on the site are less than 400 calories, and most that are that high are larger portions of food, and have the most nutrient rich combinations (complex carbs and proteins, vegetables...etc...) ...and if he doesn't want to cook, there are many different kinds of frozen entrees available that are "healthy"...at least healthier than eating salad and total everyday and healthier than fast food. And many of the recipes can be made, and then frozen for a few weeks (I usually use them within three weeks of freezing them).
There are all sorts of different exercising ideas and demos as well. The fitness tracker can show you how many calories are burned doing different exercises... (I used to do low impact aerobics 45 minutes a day and burn around 176 calories... but then I browsed through the exercises and found that stationary biking for 20 minutes [moderate] burns around 224 calories, so I went and bought a stationary bike...and it's SOOO much easier doing that for 20-40 minutes a day than L.I.A. for 45.) ...although running on the calories burned is one of the best...basically is tied for the best.
It's a great resource for someone wanting to get healthy and live a healthy lifestyle... or for those wanting to maintain and keep track their weight and exercising/food intake. At least check out the homepage. Help him do some research... sometimes just telling someone that something is not a good idea doesn't have the effect we want, so show him some resources (whethere it's online or from a library, or whatever...) and help him help himself learn what good exercising and eating habits are (Though on the exercising and water drinking, he's got a decent plan...it's just the food that's going to prevent his body from being able to handle it, and most likely hurt him more than help in the long run.)
Anyway, I hope you can show him something from spark (if you think it's a good idea), or help him find some other plan that will work for him and keep him healthy!
absolutely not.
It will work if his goal is to end up in the hospital being force-fed. Not to mention the fact that once he starts eating he will blow up like a balloon because he'll have killed his metabolism.
I'm curious how he thinks he will be ok when he is eating nothing to gives him energy but also nothing for protein .nmo stupid diet he could have a break down or binge from starvation .look in msn chat lines more people like heavy people than skinny 10000 in big white woman 700 in skinny sites
No, it's not healthy. He's not eating enough. His body will go into starvation mode.
Of course not!
He will kill himself if he only is gonna eat total cereal, salad, and yogurt. While drinking the water is good and jogging his body needs other nutrients to help keep him healthy and in good shape. Try add lean meats and some veggies and fruits.
Please try to talk some sense into your friends please! Thanks
this is so stupid, this won't work. I bet he won't make it a week.
This diet & exercise program is idiotic.
You’re ingesting only 400 calories (roughly) and virtually no protein at all. The person attempting this program won’t be able to maintain this longer than 3 to 5 days.
If the hunger or fatigue doesn’t get him, the headaches and muscle cramps surely will.
Tell your friend not to try reinventing the wheel. Just follow common sense dieting and exercise guidelines that were established years ago. He’ll lose plenty of weight by February.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
