Tired ALL of the time?
Question:
You know how some people get sugar rushes from candy and all that junk food? Well whenever I do indulge in sugary stuff, I dont get that rush. I dont even get a rush from drinking Monsters or Redbulls. I dont get hyper, even though I wish I could. I'm fourteen years old, and yeah, I do stay up late, but I also sleep in too. So I know I'm not lacking sleep. I can sleep all day!
My doctor said I have a sluggish Metabolism. But not a huge one, or else he would have given me something for it. I only take one type of medicine, Metformin. However I don't think that is the cause of my lack of energy.
Should I make him pay attention to this? Or am I just not energetic like some people?
help me.
Answers:
maybe your exerciseing too much? not giving your body enough time to recover from the last workout. this is called overtraining.
Maybe u don't eat enough food. Calories are energy for the body. U just have to find out how much food to consume and still be able to burn it off.
i feel EXACTLY the same way! i never get all hyper when i have caffeine and i never get energy bursts from sugar. I'm also SO tired all the time and i do stay up late and sleep in late too. maybe we should get to bed earlier and get up at regular times.. hmm
So you are diabetic and should NOT be trying to get a sugar rush. You are taking the same medication to control it that my wife is. Here is the list of possible side effects, including lethargy:
Metformin side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these symptoms of lactic acidosis: weakness, increasing sleepiness, slow heart rate, cold feeling, muscle pain, shortness of breath, stomach pain, feeling light-headed, and fainting. Stop using metformin and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects: feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion; swelling or rapid weight gain; or fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms.
Other less serious side effects may be more likely to occur, such as: headache or muscle pain; weakness; or mild nausesa, vomiting, diarrhea, gas, stomach pain.
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
hm it doesn't sound strange to me for a person to be able to sleep when ever maybe your tired from exercise if your not use to it but if your diet isn't healthy and you don't get enough energy from the food then that might be oh btw i think a sugar rush is if you eat way too much candy and junk like that episode of fairy odd parents when they ate only candy then they got a sugar rush but it was after like tons of it lol yup i'm immature reffering to cartoons:/ oh yea another thing beds are just so comfortable with the pillows and blanket that its very easy to snooze off but if you feel that this might really be a problem go to your doctor again:)
Is your diet uber low fat? A lot of people do not realize the less fat you take in the less energy you have. I am not saying load up on butter, but we all need some fat. Also low potassium or Iron might be the culprit.
