Not hungry in the evening so is it okay to skip dinner?

Question:
Laterly I am finding that after I finish work and come home I am usually not hungry but I eat dinner anyway. If I just ate when I was hungry I would probably only eat dinner 3 times a week. Are there any health issues with regards to doing this?
I will always have a good breakfast and lunch.
Thanks for your responses

Well, you don't want to fall short in calories. I mean if you had a 500 calorie breakfast and 700 cal lunch, that would be adequate (because you need at least 1200 calories per day). But that also means you will go from lunch one day all the way until breakfast the following day until you feed yourself. That's not good because you don't want your body thinking your starving it.

I would at least have some chicken or some other filling protein for dinner. It doesn't have to be that much, but make up for it during breakfast and lunch. Remember that 1200 calorie number.
skipping dinner totally would probably make you wake up starving and then you could overeat. if you're not hungry, don't eat a lot. have a bowl of healthy cereal or something with a lot of fiber. half a peanut butter sandwich. sometimes I just have popcorn.
Skipping meals slows down the metabolism, and doesn't provide the body the fuel it needs to function properly. If you don't put gas in your car, does it run well? If you don't fuel your body, it's not going to run well either.

Even if you don't need to lose or gain weight, you need to feed your body throughout the day...treat it right and it's more likely to treat you right. ☺
you'll slow down your matobolism. cut yor food in half at meal time and spread out yo meal to every 2-3 hours. leaving 2 hrs. before bed time empty. you might be eating meal too big earlier and all fo this will slow yoru metab.
You need to feed the machine or it'll break down. It won't live up to your expectations. You need to eat to refuel... don't cheat your body - be good to it.
No major health issues, but never skip dinner. Especially after working out. Your body needs certain carbs and proteins after working out. You honestly should skip any meal but i know sometimes people don't have a choice. Best of luck to you and your working out, just don't skip meals!!
It is always a good idea to eat a sizeable breakfast as this is when your body needs it's fuel. Having a light supper at dinner time would be a better idea than skipping it altogether however.
its okay if you can tolerate it.
You are not feeling hungry for dinner most likely because you ate a heavy lunch.

The other thing here is that you should eat dinner regardless. Eat 4-5 small size meals a day instead of two/three large meals. You should not go more than 3 hours without food.

There are no health issues with skipping dinner as long as you are getting a decent amount of calories but if you are eating a "healthy" breakfast and lunch, I do not see how you can go past 1000 calories between the two, which might be putting your metabolism into a slow state making the whole process counterproductive.
heyy .. wel my opinion skiiping dinner is not a good idea. even if its the littlest thign you eat after work.. it still counts. i say u try and at least somethig.. also . .mayb if u look foward to your favorite meal after work . that might help... you will be looking forward to something good. wel jus a thought.. okayy good luck
