Is this healthy?

Question:
Im 14, 5'7, and my weight varies between 112-116. Im just naturally underweight. I eat plenty and take vitamins. But, it is very hard for me to gain weight. I'm okay with the weight as long as its healthy. Is it?

Answers:
Yeah you are a little bit underweight but you aren't ultra thin or anorexic.

Your IDEAL WEIGHT is 133 lbs so you are underweight but a normal weight range for you is in between 123-163 lbs

So you can be 163 lbs and still be of normal range.

For you to be ultra thin or anorexic ( a BMI of 17.5 or under ): You will need to weigh UNDER 112 lbs. ( You are still safe at 112 lbs )

Your BMI is currently 18.2 so you are not anorexic ( be happy! ) but you are still underweight because your BMI is under 18.5

You just have a faster metabolism than most people. That should make you happy but you should at least try to gain weight and I am not doubting that you do try.
Just try your best for now.
When you are older, you WILL gain weight like when you are in your 20s and 30s.
Ummm...yea I do not know what you complaing Woman! Less weight the better!
You're OK.
well u should be between 130 to 160
all i know is that you have got to be 1 skinny kid im 14 and 5'10 and weigh 170 and im in decent shape
yea your fine if you eat well you will be fine. As you get older you probably will gain some weight. I wouldnt worry about it.
idk man im gonna be 14 in 4months and im 5'7 130lbs, just eat alot i guess, and talk to the doc
u should weigh less like 100 or less
You're really skinny, but as long as you're healthy then dont worry about it.You're still growing as well.Dang,I'm 14 and 5'3" and I'm 110 pounds.
As long as you don't have any other health problems that are bothering you, it should be fine. You just probably have a high metabolism rate. I wouldn't worry about it.
Well as long as you know that you need more calories than others you will be ok. Just make sure that you keep exercising (and if you not you should). If you eat all the time like snacks then you should also keep in mind that the more often you eat the more calories you burn because it keeps your body matabolizing more often. To lose weight people are told to eat 5-7 small meals throughout the day so if you eat constantly your not doing alot to put on weight. If you sit down for 3 square meals a day you will put on more weight. Also you may want to take the vitamins at meal time too. As it is, as long as you have some fat on your body (about 10% will keep you healthy at the least but would be underweight if you wanted to join the Military) you will be ok. Just remember in 10 years you will put weight on differently than you do now. If you are really worried about it ask your mom, dad, school nurse, counseler or your family doctor. Anyone of those people that you may be comfortable talking to. If any of them tell you not to complain because they think you are lucky and its a gift to not worry about being fat you should talk to somebody else because they are dealing with their issues and not yours. They will be able to help more because they know you better than any person on here. Good luck.
ya i think it is good i am 4' 9 &1/2" and i weigh 67 so i am underweight but you should be fine you can check your bmi at various internet sites
Yeah, you'll be fine.
