If i lift weights will it help me lose weight?

im 13 at how many lbs of weight should i lift how long i need to lose a lot of weigt by 3 weeks

Do u want to lose weight, or lose fat and gain muscle? If u jsut want to lose wieght then don't work out alot, but do a lot of cadio workouts like running swimming, cycling. If u want to get huge with muscle then Work out with weight that are heavy
