Why do so many people look for a quick-fix weight loss?


Question:
You don't gain 20 pounds in 2 weeks, so what makes people think it's reasonable to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks?

Answers:
Speed, ease, convenience-- it's the American way.
Hard work, persistence, patience? No.
most of them are just lazy/ignorant.
whats the point in asking a stupid question !! no one cares what you think !
Because it can happen.


Some people don't work as hard as they can until it's a week before something big that they need to be skinny for.
I don't get it either, people just don't want to put in the hard work. what people don't understand is that it is easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle than it is to do all of these crazy diets, loose weight, gain it back then try another crazy diet. A lot less stress goes into eating well and exercising regularly, it's hard sometimes, but a lot more simple than some of the things people do to loose fast.
Laziness.

I do not know anyone with hard sculpted bodies like that that are just normal people like you and me - movie stars think they have this image to uphold or something
thats probably the biggest reason people get discouraged and just give up and get fat
I don't know why they are like that. I have lost weight with Weight Watchers and if you do it right and want to keep it off you need to do it slowly.
Of course trying to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks isn't reasonable... but it's the nature of people to want to get results (for anything) as quick as possible. It's also the nature of people to procrastinate. Why should we work for something today when we can have fun today and work tomorrow?? Unfortunately, that mindset won't work with losing weight. It takes time, but people don't want to take the time to do it. They want a quick fix.
Vanity isn't reasonable. Why do you expect a vanity-driven desire to be reasonable?

I'm absolutely guilty of crash diets and a pretty rockin' body. Every time I see my doctor, I get yelled at.

The fact is . . . it feels better to be lusted after than avoided.
It's easier to be lazy about working out but cutting calories than it is taking a time-consuming path.

Fitness isn't about being skinny. It's about finding the right weight for you.

Diets are about being skinny.
They look at fashion magazines & celebrities & figure they must know how to lose weight quickly so someone else (a user) must know. You are sensible, these folks are fools 1000 cal low cal diet, you lose 2 lbs a week per a dietician.
