Would eating a swan filter tip make me ill or was it just luck that i got ill half anhour after i ate it?

I once ate a whole swan - took a week of hard work, but I don't remember seeing a filter on it's tip, maybe I picked the wrong swan. They taste a bit like chicken but with a hint of water weed......
