How do crunches work?
Question:
Answers:
No, technically they do not burn fat, the act of doing crunches or any other toning/weight lifting exercise causes the muscles to contract and work, therefore toning occurs. To get the "fat burn" you have to do a more cardio type workout to get the heart rate up. Jogging, swimming, biking, jumping rope, jumping jacks...these kind of things will get your blood pumping and your heart rate up so your body can burn calories and fat...I would recommend 30 minutes of cardio before the crunches...then you will shed the fat and show off all the muscle you are shaping. Also remember that the more muscle you have the faster we burn...because muscles burn more calories than fat...for this reason I guess one might say the more toned abs achieved will assist in burning fat but you still have to get the heart rate up to get yourself in the fatburning zone.
