Freshman 15 Help!!?
Question:
Answers:
I have to say it's a pretty real thing, I definitely remember most people including myself that gained some weight at college and it's a multiple of factors. The fact that your finally out on your own without your parents looking your shoulder gives you a lot of a freedom and many people with that freedom become more lax about themselves than they used to be. During your first year your probably staying in dorms and eating in the school cafeteria which number one is always all you can eat and offers a wide variety of sweet goods which are always tempting. Also the partying, alcohol is in itself very fattening which gives the term beer belly. So a combination of freedom, temptation, and alcohol are three reasons why the freshman 15 is a very real thing.
During the first year people are just looking for fun which is why this is a freshman thing. They're new to being out on their on and self control is a very hard thing when so many oppurtunities are given to you.
don't be too anal about it...just watch what you eat and enjoy yourself while there.college isn't a timee to worry about your weight
no not everyone gains 15 pounds. The best way to not gain it is by exercising and eating fruit or other healthy things they offer at meals. Most collages have a very delicious dessert section but try not to pig in to that too often
Not everyone gains 15 pounds. my older sis is about to get her bacholers and has had constant schooling for years now, and she hasn't gained any. she has maintianed a healthy 130 lbs for like ever
if you eat right, and exercise then you wont.
at the cafe pick a filling but nutriently breakfast, like milk with peanut butter on whole wheat toast. for lunc choose something light like a salad with a piece of fruit or a sandwich.for dinner, eat 1/2 of your plated with veggies,1/4 of protein[veggie burgers are great!!], and 1/4 carb like rice.
consdier going vegetarian, you wont gain weight as easily and help the animals and world.
for exercise buy a stabiliy ball. sit on it while you study to tone your abs. find a gym thats open late so you can sqeeze a 20 minute workout in. you dont have to exercise alot at the time, but do it consistently. i would also subsribe to self magazine. itll tell u nutrientlly and fitness as well as clothes and makeup. its really great!!
