Losing weight...how long will it take to reach my goal?

ok this whole summer i have been dieting and excersizing but i have only lost about 9 pounds.. and I want to end up losing about 20 pounds all together. so do you know how long it might take for me to reach my goal?

9 pounds is a lot of wt. to have lost so far! Congratulations. I am glad to hear you are exercising. Weight loss is a journey. You will get there when you get there ( and you WILL reach your goal as long as you continue to eat healthily and exercise.) The rate at which the lbs. come off has so many variables and everyone loses at a different wt. It depends how heavy you are to begin with, your height, your activity levels and your age. A 50 year woman will lose soooooo much more slowly than a 15 year old girl. And men lose faster than women. Just take it day by day. The alternative is to give up and then you will never reach your goal. So, whether it is Sept. or Dec. or January, what does it matter? Just keep doing the right things and you will reach that goal.
It all depend how hard you try!
if u keep loseing as much as u have it will take u about4 and 1/2 months to lose 20 pounds.

and then if youre cutting out carbs, once youre done dieting youre going to gain it all back.
my advice:be careful
1-2 lbs per week is average for most people who eat healthy and exercise in order to create enough of a calorie deficit for weight loss.

Exercise can also slow down weight loss because you gain mass. So while the numbers might not go down, your clothing size will go down.
you can safely loose about 1kg per week.. if you follow a healthy plan... exercise and good food...

do not diet though thats bad...

just make sure you burn more than you eat calorie wise...

2lb a week i think... i make it 10 weeks total.. but be happy with a pound a week its less pressure..

That depends on what kind of diet you are on. On the average people who are dieting lose 2-3 lbs per week. That's if you're really sticking to it. Just remember, low carbs and low sugar consumption are the best. Good Luck!
currently you're loosing 3 pounds a month. I'd check my food intake if I were you. However, to answer your question, you still need to loose 11 pounds. If you continue at the present rate you're looking at about 3 months 3 weeks.

I think you're cheating on the food part a little.
This is not enough information to answer this question. You have to take into account your height, age, daily food intake,
type and amount of exercise.
if you do all the right things you can lose it in 6 weeks.

That is the exact situation that happened to me, and trust me- I try very hard. I lost roughly 9-10 lbs, need to lose 20. And I have been doing this all summer. Just keep at it. Healthy weight loss is done slowly.

EDIT: Well, my summer has only been 30 days... So I lost 10 lbs in 30 days... Which makes about 2 and (fraction here) lbs a week-- WHICH IS HEALTHY.

You are supposed to aim to lose 1.5 a week if your goal is only 20 lbs.
dieting is a tricky game to play. you have to figuer out how your body works. if your looking to just slim up to make yourself look a littil hotter go forjust toning your body. you see the ppl in the movies with the ripped bodies what most ppl don't know is thouse actors or actresses are doing in the range of say 1000 situps or crunches a day.if ya want to lose weight faster but in a healthy waydrink lots of water and go jogging or walking in the hottest part of the day.the baby fat that is on our bodies is the hardest to lose and to lose it you have to make your body work harder.i work at fedex in the mornings for about 3 hours and in 3 months i have lost about 60 lbs just becuse the labor required is very intense. or if its a colder part of the year streach a bunch then go out walking or jogging and you will get the same burn
