Common mistakes when doing lunge exercises?

I'm new to this exercise and i wasn't sure how far i should extend my knee

Answers:
i think 90 degree angle but
til your upper thigh is parallel to the ground
Your step should be roughly the length of your leg. That way, when you lower yourself, both of your knees should be at approximately 90 degree angles.
