Will crunches tighten your stomach or build a six pack or is that sit ups?

Question:

Answers:
You will not bulk up from crunches or sit-ups as long as your not adding weight to the exercises. Unless you have no abs when you start, then you'll get some but not bulky :)

However you won't tighten either. In order to tighten you have to drop your body fat percentage, which is normally referred to as "cutting"

That is what gives a persons entire body that "tight" look.

So I would suggest cardio first of all and if possible a weight training program as that actually burns more fat faster.

And if your scared of bulking up from lifting weights let me assure you that unless your goal is to bulk up you will not.
Both will
Although sit-ups are more effective and you have to do less sit-ups to make that six-pack visible
Crunches are a lot easier but like I said you have to do lots of them to see that 6 pack
If you really want that 6 pack I recommend doing 2 reps of 50 sit-ups per day
Once in the morning and Once at night
If that is too hard do 40 or 30 or 20 etc. until you get better at them
good luck
Actually, nutrition is what brings out the definition in abs. We cannot spot reduce without liposuction.

Here is an article about fat loss and one which explains why spot reduction cannot happen:
