How can I lose 10 lbs in only 1 month??

Question:
I am 5'8 and weigh about 150-160. I am to scared to weigh myself. This is the heaviest I have ever been and feel gross. To the average person they would not think I look fat or even over weight but mentally for myself I feel horrible. I do not eat bad as is but am open to any recipes to change my diet. I usually eat some sort of egg product or a egg sandwich for breakfast (I always substitute a tomato for potato, lunch a sandwich or just meat, dinner I always eat some sort of protein and a veggie. I usually snack on meat sticks and so forth. I am not a junk eater and can not understand why I am the way I am. I know I could benefit by exercising but I never have energy at the end of the day to get motivated enough to exercise. Any suggestions to help this?

Answers:
Your eating doesn't sound too bad...count your calories for a few days and see if you are actually eating more cals than you realize.

What you really need to do though is motivate yourself to exercise. Believe it or not, it actually gives you more energy and helps you feel (physically) better if you go into it gradually and don't overdo.

To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume...lowering your calorie intake too low is unhealthy and slows the weightloss process so the desirable alternative is to exercise, which speeds up the metabolism and encourages the body to burn fat.

Start by walking as briskly as you can for 20 mins a day...when that doesn't leave you out of breath move up to 30 mins...try to work up to 1 hour. Eventually, if you are so inclined, you might add some jogging spurts in there. Buy you a few aerobics workout videos or DVDs (or tape fitness programs on TV) and workout with them.

When I'm trying to lose weight I exercise 45 - 60 mins in the morning (yoga or toning/scupting workouts) and 45 - 60 mins in the evening of cardio (typically walking/jogging). I try to do this 5 days a week, and then maybe a 45 - 60 min workout the other 2 days (of some sort) but if I don't get to that, I don't sweat it...5 days of exercise is plenty.

If you have no energy at the end of the day to workout, then get up earlier and exercise. I get up at 5:30am every day so I can workout before I have to be at work at 7:30am.

If we want something bad enough, we typically find a way to get it or do it. If losing weight means enough to you, you'll find a way to do what you need to do. I understand how you feel...I was obese for a decade and didn't want to be, but that desire wasn't strong enough at the time to motivate me to change my eating or activity habits.

Good luck!
Try slim-fast!
Atkins, baby. Or just stop eating.
Exercise is a catch-22...you don't have the energy to exercise but exercising will give you that energy. Once you force yourself to start you won't stop. You are the way you are because you are sedentary. Drink water or club soda not diet soda or juice.
Eat breakfast and then eat lunch but after that eat a salad but dont eat after 5:00 unless its a salad.and also go for a walk. good luck!
Less protein, more fruit? You need some sugar - or else no energy?
I just read this article about losing weight and drinking water. In the article it said that you should drink 4oz of water every hour and not just cold water but different temps as well.
Cold- increases metabolism
Hot- increases peristahlisis (that explains coffee, doing the trick)
It gets rid of toxins and so many things. The article was in the Magazine "First" I bought it on July 29 but can't remember if it was the August or July issue, sorry. I gave it to a friend after I read it cause it was so informative. You can do it!!
I am in the same boat and think I will try to drink more and do these Pilates exercises. they really help.
Take Care.
I eliminated all sugar from my diet and used splenda and equal if I really needed something sweet. I wasn't really a junk eater either but my choice of beverages was alot of empty calories (I mostly drank CokeCola and Tea fan) so I switched to a&w diet rootbeer because it has least sodium and no calories and to me was most palatable. I also as a treat could make a rootbeer float with Bryers Sugarfree ice icream and not feel guilty. I'm not big on exercise but I found out that if I kept music on while I was cooking and cleaning and dance in the process...it really helped my energy... and didn't seem like excercise. I truly went from 170lbs down to 124lbs in 3-4 months and that was about 2 years ago.

Good luck and best wishes :)
