I am so happy to hear you say that you're losing it for YOU! With an attitude like that you will do much better! Find some exercise you like, bike riding, rollerblading, dancing... incorporate exercise into your life... take the stairs when you can, park far away in parking lots so you have to walk a little bit to the store. A good way to avoid eating between meals is to chew gum. Just make sure you are consuming enough calories to keep you going! Good luck! :)
How tall are you?
It depends on your height . All you have to do is get commited and if you can belive you can acheive
Okay well this might help you...crunches are just something that give you muscle and not reduce body fat. eat healthy walk alot and something that tastes good and help you lose weght. green tea. and also eat special K cereal. it helps. try running up and down your stairs and drink water in the morning. and when you eat chew at least 20 bites and do it slowly. it hellps your metabolissm. good luck :)
First of all dont feel bad about yourself, you are trying to better yourself and make a difference, so stay focused on your diet and exercise. In the end the result will be great. keep telling yourself that.. now for a diet.. make sure it is low fat, drink only water, no sugar.. for exercises, run, walk, elliptical machine, bicycle or aerobics, you have to do cardio. it would be better to do 2 sessions, one in the morning for 25 minutes, then one at night for 25 minutes. Dont eat after dinner.
this is what i do. in the a.m. i do an hour of taebo and then 30 minutes on my elliptical. and in the p.m. 30 minutes to an hour on the elliptical. i eat veggies fruits lean meats and whole grain cereals and bread. i do have cravings for sugar now and then. but i let myself have a cheat day once a week now and that helps. i only drink water but on that cheat day i have a diet soda.
gaining weight goes on faster than losing it. so it will take time. Just concentrate on eating healthy and as far as exercise just keep moving dont sit on couch.
a healthy diet and regular exercise.

if you are finding it hard to commit to exercise, try working out with music so that it pumps you up.

milkshake diet helped my mum lose 30kg in 6mths as well.

good luck sweetie! xx
You didn't mention the exercising you were doing. If you really want to make it work, Run, Run, Run, and when your tired of running, Run some more.
Have you ever seen an overweight Runner?
Good luck, and you will start to enjoy it, believe it or not.
then you really really REALLY need to exercise ALOT
eat a healthy vegetarian diet http://www.notmilk.com
exercise keep your body moving don't over do it if it's to hard start out walking every day rest when your really tired but stay moving through most of your day.
Just counting calories and fat wont do you much good. Do not eat anything PROCESSED!! like do not eat white flour. Only eat 100% whole wheat flour, eat grains and nuts and veggies and fruit. Eat things that are close to what the earth gave us, and exercise weekly. No sodas, white bread, white sugar..anything with hydrogenated oils...ect. The most important thing on the food label is the ingredients, not the amount of fat. None of this will do you anygood if you eat too much of it. Controll your meals, and eat 4 or 5 small servings a day instead of 3 big meals.

Well, you're already a step ahead: you acknowledge the fact that you have a problem that can affect your health AND you dont want to do it for anyone else but yourself, which is good.
Losing large amounts of weight can be difficult, especially if you want to do it on your own. I dont know your height, but as a 16-year-old, your regular weight should fall somewhere between 120 and 140 lbs. But again, depends on your height.
Now that you have proposed yourself and your mind to lose weight and have taken iniciative, I suggest you get a professionall trainer to keep you motivated and can set up a process of exercices and eating system you need to lose weight. It will be much easier when you have someone pressuring you and you'll feel that you're not struggling on your own; someone's helping you.
But in the end, it's all up to you, and with the right amount of determination and perseverance, if you truly want to lose weight, you can and will do it.
Good luck!
im in ur position but im 2 years younger and weigh about 15 pounds less and im 5'4 so if ur tall ur wieght is allowed to be high but anyways if not y not try somthing fun like DDR or playing the Wii ...it helped me...(the Wii diet..lol)
The only thing I've ever found that has worked has been joining Weight Watchers. Their program teaches you how to limit your portion sizes and to eat healthy foods.

It's been a great program. Just take it slow and steady and you'll be able to take it off.
Commit to eating fewer cheeseburgers. No ice cream, no candies, no sodas or colas of flavored water of any sort. No sweetened juice.

Google around for "balanced vegetarian diet." Add back a small amount of meat (and I mean a bite or less every day -- no more) because you're growing and you're a girl. Make sure you are getting adequate iron.

The only way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you burn daily. Eat less.
LETS START WITHY BREAKY!
1 GLASS OF FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE.
1 SLICE OF WELL DONE TOAST WITH NO BUTTER AND A BOWL OF CEREAL.

LUNCH STICK TO SALADS AND A SLICE OF COLD MEAT.
EVENING-STEAM YOUR VEGEES AND GRILL YOUR MEAT.
NOW!
TRY TO EAT LESS THAN YOU DO.
OLD TIMERS USED TO SAY -ITS NOT THE FOOD YOU EAT ITS THE LIQUID YOU DRINK.
STAY OFF GASSY DRINKS.
THE LESS YOU EAT THE STOMACH CLOSES AND THEN YOU WONT FEEL AS HUNGRY AS YOU DID WHEN YOU PUT ON THAT WEIGHT.
MY GRANDAUGHTER IS 10 SHE IS 80KILOS AND HER MUM IS OVERWEIGHT AND MY OTHER DAUGHTER IS OVERWEIGHT AND YET MY THIRD DAUGHTER IS SLIM LIKE ME.
SOMETIMES ITS IN YOUR GENES.
GO FOR HALF HOUR WALK AFTER EACH MEAL AND STOP STRESSING MY MUM DID AND DHE GOT OVERWEIGHT-ESPECIALLY MUNCHING THROUGH STRESS.
TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK.
I just wanted to say off the top. I know what you are going through I had a ruff childhood with my weight. I can honestly say I felt and still feel the same way you do. I have been trying to lose weight since i was in the 6th grade. DId i finally lose. Yah a little. But I noticed that as I got older and my body streched out iwth highet it wasnt so bad. What did was I only ate one big meal a day and that was Dinner. I didnt eat lunch Im not saying starve yourself. But just eat little snacks throughout the day and have dinner as your main meal. Also of the times I would workout before dinner. Alot of people like to do it after.. But if you workout before dinner you get your body burning calories therefore you will burn calories for 6-8 hours after you workout. So when you do eat you will still be burning calories. I could tell you alot because I have been there. I was losing weight but then it seems my body came to a hault. Anyways you can always email me if you have questions or just need advice.
I was exactly where you are right now when I was 16. It's very hard to lose weight when you're 16 -- you're busy with school, your mom is making you eat three square meals a day whether you're hungry or not, your friends chow down on pizza and Twinkies right in front of you. So, the best thing you can do is to start thinking a lot smaller and more long-term.

Try to think smaller and more long-term. Make tiny changes to your diet instead of HUGE ones that are harder to stick with. Make yourself go for a FIVE MINUTE walk every day after school, and once the five minutes are up, see if you can challenge yourself to do five more. If you just don't feel like it one day, don't beat yourself up about it. But other days, you'll get five minutes in and realize you're kind of enjoying yourself, and pretty soon, you'll be up to 20!

When you're watching TV, make yourself get up during commercial breaks and do 5 sit-ups. Or 10. Or whatever feels comfortable. Check your local public library for free videos or DVDs with fun exercise routines on them (the "Crunch" series of dance ones are particularly fun, in my opinion!).

You might also start out by keeping a diet and exercise journal. Buy yourself a special notebook and pen that you reserve JUST for writing about food, exercise, and your feelings about your body and your weight. Start keeping track of everything you eat in a day, and all the exercise you get. See if you can identify trigger times or events -- if you always seem to snack on junk food after school because you're bored, maybe you can figure out a way to get yourself out of the kitchen during that time so you aren't tempted.

I started losing weight this way when I was about your age, and by the time I got to college two years later, I had lost 20 pounds. I lost another 20 my first year of college just from all the walking I had to do to get to all my classes. You can do it too!

And please also keep in mind that ALL teenagers hate their bodies -- even the skinny gorgeous ones think they're fat and ugly. You are not alone. You've already taken the first step -- you want to make a change. So, just don't beat yourself up -- take it slow, make small changes, and you'll get there!

Good luck!
If you're a taller girl sweetie you shouldn't worry too much about it.

If not, i'd say it doesn't matter anyways.

But it's also very important to be happy with your body/yourself.

So, i'd say just excersize, eat a little better and stick to that.

Good luck. :)
Eat less... work more... it is that simple... unless your
Dr. finds a very rare medical reason... you must burn more energy than you take in... that is The ONLY way... no diet will work that dose not have that component... If you have "lots of fat in every part" then you will need to exercise every part... forget all the "diets" ... you say you are eating "Healthy" if this is true... and make damn sure it is... then get off your FAT... and start working the muscles. have your Dr and a reputable fitness trainer recommend a proper exercise routine...
