Weight lifting?

Should a really obese person even bother strength training? I mean my body has no definition, it's just large.

Answers:
Absolutely! Having more muscle increases your metabolism because muscles constantly use energy, even when you're sitting, sleeping, etc. Fat on the other hand just hangs out there. Now, if you have a lot of weight to loose I'd suggest concentrating on fat loss first. So modify your diet, do cardio but start incorporating weights, you'll start seeing results much faster than with cardio alone.
Oh one note, don't get too focused on the scale. Muscle is denser than fat so if you loose 1lb of fat and put on 1lb of muscle you will "weight" more but look much better. And don't give up, the first steps are the hardest! Good luck.

ya man, fat makes muscle better, if u dont want definition ur gith for the job, just do high number of weights with low number of reps...and ull do just fine
You need to do both cardio and weight training. The cardio will work to get rid of the fat- the weigh training with strengthen the muscle under the fat.
OF COURSE! It makes a huge difference. When weight lifting you can also burn fat. It all depends on weight and repition. To burn fat - to a low amount of weight with a high amount of repetition. The way you can tell is if you can easily lift the weight, but by the 15-20 rep, it gets more difficult.

also. i recoment lifing before any high cardio fat burning. Lifing before cardio send a hormorne through your body that warms it up and throws you into fat burn mode. this way when you jump on the tredmil, you are getting a soil fat burning workout. instead of having to warm up your body first.

Yeah like they said try to do cardio and strength training they both will help you burn fat and the strength training will tone your body, but don't stop weight lifting cuz then the muscle is going to turn into fat.
