Is eating a salad a day enough for a day n yet lose pounds?
Question:
Answers:
No. Eventually you will have to go back on a normal diet, and you will put the weight back on because you are slowing your metabolism. Eat properly now, and that wont happen. Salads are good and healthy, but for good overall health, try some food like fish, brown rice etc.
And you need to eat some calories!
no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no!! That is very unhealthy!!!! Not every day!! your stomach can't take that stuff!! Not everyday try slim fasts or 2 apples each day waaaaaay beter than a leafy treat!!
You should not limit yourself to just one type of food...you will not get the proper nutrition. Eat a variety of low fat foods. Switch to whole grain breads...the less processed it is the healthier.
Not Really, Salads too can be bad for you, depends on what is in it and what/how much salad dressing is used. You should eat healthy, never skip a meal, and combine it with exercise. You could try eating 6 small meals a day that will boost your metabolism. Breakfast, healthy snack, lunch, healthy snack, dinner,a nd a healthy snack. Low-Fat cottage chesse is a good option. Exercise, you should so cardio...treadmill, walking, the bike, anything that gets your heart rate going..you can go to ivillage.com and they have great resources, and articles that will help.
Salad pretty much has no calories, so no it's not enough. What will actually happen is the reverse: you will gain weight faster the minute you touch any other foods. Your metabolism will slow down because you are pretty much starving yourself, and then you will stop burning calories, making it harder to lose weight when you do eat something else. And you are eventually goin to have to eat something, esp since you are already getting bored of salads.
Not only that, but you are missing many many important nutrients and vitamins, not to mention protien, that your body needs. Your muscles are going to detoriate and you are goign to feel sickly and weak all the time. A proper diet of all food groups is essential. Continue to eliminate the junk, but give your body the fuel it needs to live. Treat your body with respect: it is the greatest tool you'll ever own.
you need to make sure you get some protien too -
like grilled or seasoned chicken - turkey - or steak - itll change the way your sald tastes and like i said you really need protien - even eggs - and if you dont like milk then you should check in on making sure you add a cheese to your plate -
also consider takeing a multi vitamen - if your not into meat consider adding some beans to your salad for protien -
I believe so.
no not good. Are you talking about just a salad of lettuce and a few veggies. Have you tried putting chicken and peanuts in your salad? There are so many things you can do with a salad especially in the summer time. Try just a fruit salad. Try fruit juice instead of milk.
That's the quickest way to get a deficiency. You really need to make sure you're getting your protein and eat some fruits and yes, definitely dairy. Eating fruit salads are good and are not particularly high in calories. Also try adding some tuna or lean chicken into your salads. Make sure your salads aren't just lettuce. Add some color, like tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, cauliflower, etc.
I personally did that one summer because I became a vegetarian and I became very weak. I didn't really know what I was doing, and I really put myself in danger. Eating only salads for an extended period of time doesn't give your body what it needs. Everything in moderation, balance, and variety! Good luck and hope that helped.
salmon is low fat and is very nutritious, oatmeal is good for you or try a slim fast shake with a banana. if u eat salads every day u will get bad diarrhea.
Quick soup:
Take a can of black beans, add a can of diced tomatoes. Add onions and garlic. Add any chopped vegetables you like--carrots, spinich celery, whatever. Put it on the stove, let it boil, then turn to low heat to simmer for a half hour to an hour. Add my favorite Mexican spices: cumin, cilantro, cayanne, and garlic powder. Salt and pepper.
No fat, lots of protein and vitamins.
Quick, no-fat, nutrition-packed "potato chips":
Preheat the oven to 450F, slice a sweet potato in 1/8 inch slices, place on a non-stick baking pan, and bake until browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Add salt and pepper and you have healthy "potato chips," full of beta-carotene and other good things.
Add protein to that salad: sliced, grilled poultry, water-packed tuna, beans.
Eat some grains each day: cooked brown rice or oatmeal.
Grapefruit juice, with no added sugar, is a great drink.
