In one week, you can do both if you 1) decrease your calorie intake, 2) eat some carbs, like veggies or fruit, and protein at every meal, 3) do resistance training or free weights. It's important that you do the weight training while eating a little less because if you just eat less, you'll lose weight, but only muscle. If you weight train also, all you will lose is the fat, and you will retain or gain more muscle. Don't look a the scale numbers because muscle weighs more than fat! Hope this helps.
